Are we a true community?

There's a model, which fits with my
experience of all kinds of groups--including Isratrance. It's called "community-building", and was formulated by M. Scott Peck (author of "The Road Less Travelled"). Based on Peck's experiences working with a lot of human groups, posits that communities go through four stages. In summary these are:

QUOTE
1 Pseudocommunity
An initial state of "being nice". Pseudocommunity is characterized by
politeness, conflict avoidance, and denial of individual differences.
Let's be honest -- most of us can't keep this up for long. Eventually
someone is going to speak up, speak out, and the dam breaks.

2 Chaos
In the stage of chaos, individual differences are aired, and the
group tries to overcome them through misguided attempts to heal or to
convert. Listening suffers, and emotions and frustration tend to run
high. There are only two ways out of chaos: retreat into
pseudocommunity (often through organization), or forward, through
emptiness.

3 Emptiness
Emptiness refers to the process of recognizing and releasing the
barriers (expectations, prejudices, the need to control) that hold us
back from authentic communication with others, from being emotionally
available to hear the voices of those around us. This is a period of
going within, of searching ourselves and sharing our truths with the
group. This process of "dying to the self" can make way for something
remarkable to emerge.

4 True Community
"In my defenselessness, my safety lies." In this stage, individuals
accept others as they are, and are themselves accepted. Differences
are no longer feared or ignored, but rather are celebrated. A deep
sense of peace and joy characterizes the group.
UNQUOTE
http://communityx-roads.org/about/

His definition of a community is "a group of individuals who have learned how to communicate honestly with each other, whose relationships go deeper than their masks of composure, and who have developed some significant commitment to 'rejoice together, mourn together,' and to 'delight in each other, make each others' conditions [their] own.'" [Drum, Simon and Schuster, 1988, p. 59.]

What are your thoughts about this and how it relates to the social meeting ground we have here?
Where do you feel we, the 'psytrance community' as represented on isratrance, are in relation to these stages of community developement?
Where would you like us to be?
What are you going to do about it?

And most importantly and interestingly, how is the music in relation to each model?

I think that there is a bit of everything and you can see this clearly through the music and the way that people transmit there energy through their actions. There's is some psuedo, lots of chaos, lots of emptiness and yes a little bit of true community too!

          Boom :)

True community is to be able to meet someone into psytrance and feel completely on the same level as them..that type of relationship doesn't happen very often in other genres of music.

Absolutely!! I've made many friends through isratrance, not just through chatting, but actually meeting in person, and some have turned out to be good friends.

We have all sorts of aliens, trolls and silly qwackers, that make up this community, just like in every other community.            "On the path of spirituality, one ventures to vanquish one’s own faults rather than to judge others"

Somewhere in between "Pseudocommunity" and "Chaos" - Not to be a pessimist, but even if some of us reached "Emptiness", we as a community are fucking far from getting there - our collective feeling of being "the good guys" is merely a dream of our imagination. We might not seem to be different - but we are constantly struggling with our view on other people - its the nemesis of human kind - you will need others flaws to redefine your own.
