HI

What´s your opinion in what matters if it´s realy needed to buy a synth, or do you think that VST´s are enough to make music with quality...

Computer software is enough in my opinion to make good music.

hardware synths usually sound better(osc,filters,env,...)but good vsti are close enough(zeta,surge,discovery,albino...not vanguard ) you can do top quality music with both but it s more if you like hardware gear like toys then you need some to have fun

yes, for realtime control of synth parameters. you can do it with automation, but it feels cooler if you can not use a mouse sometimes...           Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

Yes you can create good music with only software (and many released artists do this). I've just decided to sell at least 3 to 5 of my hardware synths because I use so many plugins these days.

Still it is nice to have at least one hardware synth to play with. Not absolutely necessary though...

Your music will sound as good as the weakest link in your studio chain permits:

synth - mixer - monitors - listening environment - your ears and experience

IMO the weakest link is often not the use of soft- or hardware synths, but other factors.

It depends on your concept of quality music!!

Try to make albuns like Jaia;son Kite;Vibrasphere, with software...

I´ve recently bought top notch tc hardware fx unit...
all i can say is,there is nothing in the VST world like a fireworx;Tc2290;Sys6000,lexicon units...

If you´re reaching for expensive sound surely you have to own some external DSP singing along with native VST..

If you push a REAL minimoog or CS-80 Bass with compression you almost get 2 basses from one!!!
Altouhg Arturia and Minimonsta are nice recreations they stay nice not real !!

Just my opinion

In my experience it's generally not the mixer, the monitors or the listening environment either.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Vibrasphere used only software for Lime Structure and IMO it sounds fabulous.           When rain dries, clouds form.
