Hi !
I believe many trance artists has experienced the same problem i will write about in this topic.
Often when im trying to make trance in buzz
i end up with many eq´s and everything gets really messy.
I Eq all synth "effects" that´s why i end up with so many eq´s.Because i don´t wan´t o use only one effect it all gets really confusing after a while with many synt´s and eq´s.
Im trying out different to not have to use so many synth´s.Like saving all synthéffects within one (VST) synth and use programchange.
It works good until i wan´t to eq the individual sounds with different eq´s and effects then it´s useless cause you can only use one eq setting to all sounds.Hmm

Synth-> EQ -> Reverb
(programchange)
Not a good idea either

Im looking for help so i can solve this problem.I would like to work in a easy straightforward way.
Don´t really know how the proffesional artists do it.Another way maybe is grouping
all the different sounds but i don´t really know how it works.I believe all synth sounds get the same eq then aswell.Maybe there exist
a vst equaliser which supports multiply inputs.

Please help me !

Hello Conny!

Maybe you shold plan a bit, before you start on a song? Try and record all your sonds as good as possible. Try and mix your song without all the fx and eqs and when your done listen if there are any instruments that sounds "blury" ore if the instruments are is masking other sounds. If this is the case try and eq the freqs that are making the mix sound "bad".
Do you use eq for sounddesigning or do you them to get a good frequency balance to get a even distrubution over the whole audible spectrum?

I hope this helped you little!

normally i also always end up with an eq per channel, but I try not to eq things very much, most thing only have a very subtle eq just to take out a bit of the frequencies that don't matter to the sound (and so making the other sounds that use those frequencies more audible).

as Rosengren said, try to get the sounds as good as positive from begining, so that u don't have to work so hard on eq.

i would really recomend to have every diferent sounds in diferent channels, that way if u are in total control of the track at all times. then if u want, u can send diferent channels to a bus channel and eq them or compress or add any think to them as a group.

anyway...its an infinite world of possibilities!

If you change programs of the vsti throught the track, you should also change EQ presets throught the track accordingly...

Although this seems to be hard work, easier would be just record on a wav, and then have each EQ on its relevant channel.

or, if this is a multiout vst, u can send each output to a different channel with different EQ.

I never change programs throughout the track - I'm not going into that mess. Just open a VSTi on another channel.

Thanx for all of your reaplys.
Hi D,Rosengren, you are right i should really make the synthsounds as good as possible at first.I try to get a even distrubution over the whole audible spectrum when i us a equalizer.
I want everything to sound smooth without any sounds which jumps out of the song in a bad way .
Fluosamsara, I believe it´s a good idea to send different channel to a group channel and make some final adjustents there.
I use buzz by the way.
Trip-i will try to change the eq presets while the song is playing , i believe it´s the best thing for me to do .

Best regards Conny
