Hey guys!

So yeah, this is sort of a new track, a remake of one I just got released on beatport called Odyssey. The remake turned out so different that it really needs a new name - hence the next Oddworld game in the series - Exoddus! It's quite influenced by the vibe of those games.

I used a different technique to make this track, one I outlined in a thread called Engineering approach to songwriting in the production and music-making forum.

Feedback is welcome - it's not the final copy, just a demo for now

Thanks!

love ur sounds already and dig a lot this type of trance music.

those several shorter notes in the bass part sound a bit weird against longer ones.

well done, keep them coming!

Thanks for listening man! What do you mean by weird? Hehe glad you piked up on them though I thought they wouldn't be very easy to notice. I put them in, then took them out, and found it not as interesting without them. It adds punch to the bass when the crashes hit, seems to work alright. Would like to hear your thoughts on them though           http://www.soundcloud.com/architektnz

Yeah I understood what are u trying to achieve, but now it is not so clearly working. Maybe try making the effect more pronounced but use it only several time. Maybe it would better work if other sounds would accompany it, becoming shorter too.

Also u use them not only after crash

Anyways that's just details, basically the track is really good.

That's some really good info! Thank you for being honest, and it's something I'm going to think a lot about now - cheers! I think some instruments could have the same effect as the bass, I'm gonna try it
