just out of curiosity: why did they get only 500 ppl? And how many ppl were they prepared for?
Sad, I had an experience like that and it broke me financial and spiritually for a long time.

Peace and Love.

they were probably prepared for 3000-5000 i guess, it was their huge summer festival with all their artists. not sure why they got so few people, but i think the weather wasn't very good.

A lot of people I talked to stayed away because they said there was a bad vibe at Arcadia Parties...

Vibe is so important I think to keep your party going.

I think they are doing lots of parties at Velfarre Night Club now under the name United. Can anyone confirm this? What are their parties like now?           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

I hope it was the weather and not the vibe thing. You guys must know a lot of parties that went catastrophe due to bad weather. It´s a lottery. I hope they keep going on. I remember one Arcadia party with the 3D crew that was amazing, and the vibe was very positive and good.

Peace and Love to them.

Yeah, I shouldn't talk about vibe reports if i wasnt there. Outdoor parties are risky, especially with so many parties in Japan.

I did like the line-ups they put together. I think the Arcadia name is probably dead but maybe they'll come back under another name. Wish 'em luck.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

unfortunatly the arcadia parties did attract a lot of the bad crowd... i have had fun at arcadia parties in the past, and have also felt a very bad vibe at some... but i don't think that's the reason that they failed at that party. the majority of party goers in tokyo really don't pay attention to much except the lineup. the people in the know may stay away from those types of parties because of the vibe, but that is by far the minority. anyway, yes, the 'united' monthly parties are organised by an arcadia person, but they are sponsored by vellfare, so they aren't really arcadia parties. the arcadia person is just using his contacts to book the artists... and at least now the artists are getting paid... there were many reports of arcadia not paying their artists (especially after the party last summer!)... have also heard these reports about vision quest... oh well...

Yes, I also heard the same thing about Visiorn Quest not paying their artists, but I'm not so sure about this because they have mostly the same line-up every year.

I wonder how their parties have been going since the Infected Mushroom "no show lies".

Its very competitive in Japan and a lot of parties go under every year. I guess you just gotta keep it fresh and keep the vibe if you wanna survive.

Interesting development is that there are a lot of "secret parties" popping up.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

it's little bit sad that all "major" parties in japan are almost same lineup everytime...of course, it's always very "big" lineup (hehe one party is almost the total big names lineup for one year parties in France !) but maybe it would contribute to bring down the scene...           ||||===||||

Howdy Ken,

Why don't you come on down to a Vision Quest party and see for yourself how they are doing since the "Infected No-Show." You know, that debacle is already pretty much in the past, and when Infected did come to Zepp this Spring, they brought the house DOWN to the GROUND. It was a really fantastic experience and I will cherish the memories of it forever.

There's an energy in the Earth that spreads positive vibes, and Vision Quest help do this.

Peace y'all!

Yes, VQ definitely is a precious part of the Japanese scene and memories of Infected at Kodama no mori many years ago will live on in my mind forever.

Not really into Infected these days with the guitarist an all and them trying to sing but that's just my taste. I'm sure many people love this.

I hope VQ can ride out the chimpira (young low level yakuza) wave and bring out new acts to Japan and lead the scene again. Bring back that special vibe only VQ can do!

i'm wishing all the best for VQ. Especially the idea of a Japanese stage this year, and paying those acts more than just the transport fee would be an even better idea.           The music was like new black polished chrome
that came over the sky like liquid night.

well said...i rest my case.

so how was the recent earth energy party?

i hope it did not rain as much as it did at the solstice gig. that one was nice but WET.

well, why don't you come to the next VQ party @ Differ on August 5th? Alternative Control, Sun Project, etc.

i'm sure we'll have a blast! we'll hang backstage, onstage, outstage and try to enjoy the NOW.
