I'm interested into it. Tbh even more in the old ones. Those kind of fairytales for grown ups or no need for adults if the movie is not too childish and has an oriental flavour.
I know there is a big film industry coming from Egypt. There is Hollywood (Amrika), Bollywood (India) and I forgot but something like Oullywood which is coming from tha arabs.
I'm interested in the movies itself.. (in arab language is ok) and even more in the sounds on source music..looking for samples with original oriental flavour.. some kind of fatamorgana desert oriental melody is what I'm looking for. Please recommend good movies if you know. It can be something about jjins and aladins or magic lamps , I don't care. No need of any hollywood content etc.
I found this one not bad.
A married couple are faced with a difficult decision - to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer's disease.

If you are interested mostly in soundtrack, some Western movies come to mind:
"The English Patient" has the main character's theme (supposedly, a song his Hungarian mother used to sing to him), which fits very well with the desert backdrop.
"The Last Temptation of Christ", while being American, fits your request on more than count.
I have heard of old Egyptian movies based on the 1001 Nights but have not seen any of them.

I like the movie 'The English Patient' it has a deep humane touch in it. Old but gold.
I've seen this movie a few times meanwhile but cannot remember a specific sound, wasn't itall like a bit of sentimental sounds most of the time? without much of variety, more like soundscapes.. I'm not sure. But need to check that hungarian song.. somehwo I can hear it now.. need to prove if it sounds like in mind
Usually I'm very into sound when watching movies.
Sometimes I have difficulties to follow the plot because of sound desing and the movie score. Composers are for me the real rocksters. It might be that I have succesfuly deepen my mind into the content of The English Patient though. However, need to watch or hear it again.
Thank you very mch for suggesting me "The Last Temptation of Christ" ..it sounds even interesting. Need to find it somewhere. Thank you for your input Maine Coone.
I'd love to have that 1001 Night sound some Fatamorgana delusive flute, a beduine kind of mantra or something. Hard to find.
