I had a 100-200 of them jamming to some chromatone, fearsome engine, subconsciousmind disco hooligans et cetera last night.

I wasn't sure how it would go down, but the freaks got freaky! The convention staff even said I could go for another hour but then the hotel security showed up all angry and I had to cut it off

A real shame, as I was about to start playing classic goa tracks, but it was fun nonetheless!

Anime freaks and furries actually sound like prime candidates for psytrance. Also, given the fact that psytrance is pretty huge in Japan, and anything Japanese is instantly cool to these people, should it be any surprise? In addition, these are usually the people down with the faster, more intense, higher energy music. I think it's fair to say that a lot of psytrance fans are nerds at heart(more so than a lot of other sub genres of electronica), and furries are the kings (and queens) of nerds.

Talking about weird venues for psytrance...

I passed out my latest demo, and one of my friends passed the demo off to his boss, who runs a cell phone accessory, styling, and engraving store. He apparently LOVED the music, and now he wants me to plan an event and play in his store. On first instinct, it sounds kind of weird, especially for music originating in the hippie and underground scenes. It would seem that this kind of store, especially, is part of a completely separate paradigm than psytrance. But I think it may be an interesting opportunity to bring the music out to some people who have NEVER heard this stuff before. Heck, I think most of the people in the store wouldn't know any types of electronic music very well.           http://www.soundcloud.com/djKAHN

The dance stage wasn't so impressive (except for its huge-ness) but the chillroom downstairs looked pretty nice

Needed some couches and cushions though.

Here are some pictures of the con in general: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jankofox/sets/72157623135598873/

Hey, there's actually a picture of me during my set! (it's from behind though... although I guess that's how I like it)

Shiranui, the fact that you were at a convention with furries leads me to believe that you yourself are in fact a furry.

What is YOUR fursuit of choice?
