small grey creature, only Cubase, Logic and Reason are programs to create music.
The rest are plugins.

-many trackers (search the forum)
-live
-tools like acid or recycle
-cakewalk/project 5
-samplitude
-max/msp ( heavy to learn --> pro's)
...and many more which comes to my mind...
i would go for cubase if u using pc and logic if mac ( or if u thinking about moving to mac...hehe )
and use REason/-cycle and stuff like soundforge/wavelab for edit. -there u go...=(-8
