the worst thing after all those years that im trying to like about this app for me is the LOTS of shortcuts and no mouse macros.
my memory is shit and the quantity of the shortcuts for everything without the main things being somewhere near a mouse click kills me.

hey medea,
as a logic pc user, was the switch smooth or painful?
i am constantly looking for a way to ditch logic (at least on pc), but keep going back to it no matter what app i try out.

yeah it s great i m back using it a little since version 4 but i miss a good looking interface ...(i can t stand the bars on top lol it s there since version 1 and look so ugly )
one have to become geeky to learn it in depth compared to daw like cubase imo but there is so much fonctions and settings .
btw i m not sure about the liscence ? i m in demo mode and i think after the trial (maybe it s already over ) there is just a nag screen asking you to buy it but you may still be able to use it if you don t mind the nag screen and the waiting time . (not sure about all this)
what fonctions make you want to move to reaper btw will?

On the function side? User keybinds, awesome automation handling/curves, Takes, Audio + MIDI on one track, Media Objects and how customizable they are...those are the things that stick out, but it just seems like everything in reaper is streamlined, efficient, very well thought out and is perfect for very detailed tweaking while not being messy.
and I'm fairly certain that there are mouse macros, think they're called gestures or something - haven't explored that yet, still learning the basics of how to get around and what everything does.
I've already committed to switching to Reaper for production, no doubt in my mind as I was playing with it and watching videos today...

Theres never any limit, its always just the nag, but you can do whatever with the nag still up
I use Reaper for mixdowns, Renoise so far only supports x64 Linux, so if I want to use new x64 native plugs, Renoise isnt helpful. Also theres not really any sort of intra-Renoise midi routing functions so no sidechains.
I havent really dug very deep into it, but teh one thign that sold me on it;
64 bit FP render @ 5x realtime

these fonctions are great for sure, i remember reaper forum very active ,most of these probably come from users ideas and request.
what always keep me away to switch to reaper was some bugs and crashs with the plugins i used but it s seems way more stable now (i don t remember a single crash on version 4 but haven t used it much yet) but now i m adicted to logic just use reaper a little sometimes for mastering waiitng for samplitude and the amazing included plugins to come on mac

trying it myself...Its okay. Definatly not ground breaking. for the price you can't argue though! But my opinion is simply that its good software... but i personally won't be switching anytime soon.
