well, using cubase 4 for about a week now... its really cool but definately needs some getting used to. there is a really cool feature called intrument track which is sorta like a midi track but u just select the synth right away, sorta like in logic. the order of the inserted plugins on a channel can be changed around and even moved to other channels... also like in logic.
the general view is pretty much the same.
the new vst's are pretty cool, yet the preset system needs some getting used to again.
hailon one is great!
more to come as we play further.

Anyone tried to open SX4 projects in SX3? Will it be as much of a nightmare as SX3 -> SX2?
I'd like to upgrade, but it's going to be kind of pointless if the people I work with aren't going to do the same and we can't exchange project files.
Anyway, I'll probably wait untill the next update to upgrade. 1.0 is never a good thing.

First post on here so, HI!!
Cubase 4 looked very nice, so much so that recently I was upgrading my system & actually considered moving from Logic over to Cubase again.
I opted for Logic pro in the end but, in all fairness there's very little between the two & some of the new features in C4 are excellent. Was only the fact I really didn't want the headscrew of re-learning the smaller details again. The media search window is such a great idea & would normally use a seperate app for something like that.
It's going to be buggy for a while as supposidly it's had a huge re-write.

Aeon, projects seem to open fine, just be smart about being neat and making sure u have all the plugins from the sx3 for c4... some plugins no longer exist in c4, so thats the only catch we see so far. everything exists on the dvd except for a1.
