As I've noticed in USA really few shops bring psychedelic trance cds and our distributor told us that is quite difficult finding a distributor or shop interested in this kind of music....

maybe some of you american trance lovers are interested in bringing some of our INPSYDE MEDIA cds to sell thru your friends and parties....

I still believe that USA is an interesting place for trace and full of trance lovers... what you are missing is some professional people really interested in spreading music and seriously promoting the word..

If anyone would be interested please contact us at : contact@inpsyde-media.com

thank you. Boom.           *********************************

not trying to be rude, but i don't see how you can say thise. there are many people here that spend all of their time, money, and energy trying to spread the music here in the US. psy trance simply isn't popular with the mainstream society, and i doubt that it will ever be. promoters here (for the most part) just pray they don't take too big of a loss on their parties. there is a successful and growing underground, however, and it's because of those professional people here that we have parties to go to at all.

umm, i believe he is refering to professional distributors for psytrance within the US. . . in which case he is right, there are none (that i'm aware of)
i don't think he is criticizing the US scene or doubting that there are commited people, just commenting on the lack of distribution in USA.

Yes.....it would be great to see some kind hearted commited soul with a little time on their hands to step up to the plate the same way that Eyephunk, Purple Oz and Majestical all did in their time.

Unfortunatley, these are different times we are living in now. Many stores struggle and go under. Sales are down.....and most people are not interested in doing the type of gU3ri11a m4rk3TinG that is neccasary to make things fly here in the North American market.

One can hope that as the spark of trance productions start actually coming from north american based artists that this will be opening of the doorway for trance in the US to become a serious force in the underground music tapestry that already exists here.

One can hope.

Clear Channel sponsored raves? No, thanks.

The only other mass marketing alternative is college radio. I could almost see it - Radiohead - Amnesiac (Eskimo mix). Skazi vs. Dead Kennedys.. John Coltrane remixed by Texas Faggot. Sub 6 could sample the Unabomber.. hehe.. lots of possibilities.

as to grassroots marketing - the country is so big, it'll take a while.. but is that such a bad thing?

on a more serious note -
it's difficult because:

bad euro exchange rate +
very small US market +
competing with psyshop +
mp3s

I could see it taking off in a year or two, though.

the market is small so it is easy to penetrate,

dude.. there's nothing to penetrate here. maybe if a label or a dist. company wanted to invest in organizing several festivals across the US to promote the music, it would help the scene grow faster. but be prepared to lose some.

talk to some local promoters - you'll see how hard they're all trying. and something is happening - this summer there are more psy parties around the country than i've ever seen before.
