I have a Pulsar!!

I tell you its the best u can get, I mean this, I almost sold all my normal gears, since I got this.. And more people after me sold there real gear, like Jesn Borelli (only pulsar now) and Beat Bizzare, and bob (brazil) also almost only pulsare now, the fat reason is that the new Pulsar OS 3.0 has a new mode called XTC (funny right :) this mode enables you to get all synts, samlpers, effects and fucking hell more direct as a VST instrument in Cubase!

Check: www.creamware.com

Buy it, its the best!!

Hugs,
Jesper!

Ohh just in case u wonder what I made with that card, listen to: Tenka - Broken neck, Neotone - The cell thats 75% pulsar...

Hello Krolder,

I am not a big fan of Pulsar, but it's an ok piece of hardware/software I guess..;-)

The PC that you have is good enough, check well about Pentium IV if you wanna have one, cuz from what I know, the Garribaldy motherboards and some other parts of Pentium IV have serious communication problems with Pulsar and actually with music making..

I am not an expert on this though..

I think you might contact Creamware and ask them for motherboard connectivity - they might help alot in my opinion...

anyway, 1.2Ghz is alot - though I don't know what is alot for the Pulsar - where I would turn to Creamware again :)

Hey Guys!!!

i heard from some ppl that Pulsar dont worth the money that it cost. some ppl say that is better to buy Luna than Pulsar, they say that Luna have allmost all that pulsar have.

What do you think about it ?

I have a luna II and i am quite pleased with it.
Pulsar IMHO is very limited. sure, it's got cool sounds and presets and VSTi's, but at a certain point, it simply hogs too much CPU, it doesnt allways work well with cubase or logic, and it has SERIOUS latency issues with some proccesors.
I second what yuli said here.

well man ...
how can u compare a card with 2 processors on it
and 1 with 6 on it ...?
the luna is the small syster of the pulsar ...
we work with both luna and pulsar (and propack -
on it ... - exelent mixer !!!)
so it's hard 2 say ...
like always it's q of few things :
1.how much money do u have ?
2.what is your computer abilities
=======================================
don't take what people write here as god words ..
i have seen so many forums with the same q ...
i quess u also need 2 ask your self :
1.who can support me if i buy this or that card ?
good luck man !!!

in case of support, luna is a creamware product, much like the pulsar, so no worries there. i don't take anything ppl say as god's word. if you think i do you are making a serious mistake. i second yuli since he is a pro and i respect his opinions, which usually i find to be correct. the volume of proccessors is no scale for how good a sound card is. Luna and luna 2 are much more affordable than the pulsar. and for someone with a standard computer, it's more than enough.
K, plz, i am not AGAINST people buying this or that Card. im simply saying what i think. im not a luna salesperson or somthing, so cool it.

yuli:
usually (this was so with VIA problems) the 1st release of firmware for the motherboards has bugs, after that come upgrades.
if it's not upgradeable - you eat .... it.this was the case with VIA chipsets: now they have no problems.i think the same is/will be with Garibaldi.

krolder:
i haven't checked www for pulsar specific problems now.but when i thought of it ...it was supposed to replace real synths:
less space , same sound, no need in real racks in the house,
"all in one" (yep, sure) but ... it doesn't work that way, there's no miracles.
yes, pulsar can get you great sound, but last time i _read_ about it - there were bugs in mixer, and other compatibility issues (which i hope for you have been resolved in Pulsar 3+)
i'm not a great fan of pulsar either (but from other reasons than yuli)
now... you should ask yourself these:
don't the virtual synths satisfy your needs ( imho - easily, they were satisfying with 800 Mhz CPUs) ?
midi latency is what you're concerned of ?
why do you think you need pulsar ?

note, if you're not limited by money you better try out kyma system. it was introduced in 1986, and still it is the most advanced DSP piece in the world.works both with PC/Mac ... more freedom, more simultaneous fx - see benchmarks, not for weak hearted :)

sorry forgot, i don't work for them, i have not enough money, but as soon as i have :), i'll get it.
