Anyone know of any good tutorials or tips on how to process singing? I've been experimenting for a long time and I have read one short tutorial.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

If it's recorded vocals and not acapellas that have already been processed, it's good to use a steep highpass to cut the boominess out, Rubberfilter is really good for this. You can also highpass + lowpass small parts of it to give it that "whisper" quality to a few words. And lot's of creatively applied reverb, reverse reverb, etc... and stutter type audio edits...

make sure to copy at least one time your audio file and process it a little bit different with effects ,maybe an octave or two lower on one of them

btw do somebody know a good reverse reverb..? I know only that one from reason..which I'm not that really satisfied with

what exactly do you mean by reverse reverb..you can always record your reverb and just reverse it for sweeps or whatever...almost every sampler has an reverse function.           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

the reverse reverb of reason got a lot of nice functions to manipulate this but it sounds a not enuff good to me.I dont know if its the same thing to only reverse any reverb..dont know that much bout all this algorithms in reasons reverse reverb preset but I mean it..check it..
I often used that way you mentioned but not for lyrics .. but should work to reverse the file for instance but than again ..I thaought of a more advanced thing.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

hm..i actualy do not know any reverb that has a reverse function..i used to download impulse responces from high quality reverbs..like lexicon 960 l and stuff ( 14000€ reverb ;9)

and use that stuff for reverse sweeps and so on..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

Check out Mixing with Your Mind by Michael Paul Stavrov

It's got a good section on processing vocals

www.mixingwithyourmind.com

(i'm assuming you want to enhance actual singing not just use vocals as fx)

I'm not sure what you're talking about in Reason, or how a reverb can reverse itself in real-time, but I was refering to:

*add reverb to the vocal track

*Solo your reverb track

*Bounce the reverb from a small passage of vocal

*reverse the new audio you just bounced(however that's done in your DAW)

*place the bounced reverb ahead of the passage it came from

I understood you and I knew from beginnig what was ment - really ^^.You can process it also offline & for sure other method exist.

What I mean is something quite different not only because of much more modifcation possibilities the reverb module offers in reason.

thats why I have written .. check it.And check it with lyrics or over lyrics. Its two worlds using a reverse reverb on anyting or on lyrics imo.

Check the cheap preset from reason its perfect for lyrics only the quality lacks a bit .

anyhows thanks for your good intention.
What I mean is exactly reverse reverb in real time. This is a very dark effect for lyrics.I myself wouldn use any.

Waves IR1 has a reverse button

But you can use any reverb on any sound to create the reverse reverb sound.
