you have an andromeda and still need to use sounddiver???i am curious as to why. that synth has more dials and buttons than i care to think about and virtually all paramters are accesible via the panel so there is no need really.
sounddiver is a synth editor/librarian and is probably the best and most comprehensive one.
it doesn´t help you out with midi in any way but is used to edit patches on synths where the lack of buttons and dials make for difficult programming, but with sounddiver all the parameters are available on the screen which in most cases is better than those itty bitty displays.
the program is more or less stable but some people seem to have difficulties with it. also on a side note emagic has stopped development of it so it´s only now available on the "grey" market.
there should be a manual for the program so read that and get yourself aquainted with the way this program works. and if you want help with midi then buy a beginners guide to it. they don´t cost much but if you can afford an andromeda i´m sure you can afford a 50 page paperback. here is a couple of links you can use: http://www.knowledgehound.com/topics/midi.htm or if you want litterature try http://www.amazon.com
the first link was found just by searching google using the words: beginners guide to midi. so knock yourself out, there´s plenty of reading material out there.

Still, I must advise you to be extremely carefull with sound diver. Once you have it pluged to your andromeda on closed circuit (out soundcard-in andromeda/out andromeda-in soundcard), it's kind of dangerous if you have some self-made presets that you don't want to loose.
With a simple distraction, you can easily erase all data in your synth. (having to make a restore from factory banks, or something like this).
So, go easy on it.           "The Light Children Are Awakening!"

well soundiver alows u to work midi more easy
if u work in native emagic envierment (logic+soundiver) its alows u to control any synth from logic , automate u'r synth and tune it to best sound that u cant reach with knobs and sliders
and exept of that u can easy load any patches and manage u'r own sound libraries for u'r synth
dont afraid for u'r synths curent sounds
u can save them as a library file and load it into the synth any time u want           Jesus didnt dance, but his beat goes on
