It is quite a long trip. you can also do it by bus.
First from Arta or Preveza to Thessaloniki and from there another bus or train to either Kavala or Alexandroypoli where you can take a boat to Samothraki. You should consider leave voama before the end of it so you can have plenty of time to travel and settle before the samothraki festival start. The tickets for the boat are limited and not possible to book so the earlier you arrive at the port the better.

Last year I had a few extra ££ so In decided to make my journey as easy as possible by flying to Kavala, then a short train ride to the Ferry port Alexandropoli... even though I paid about £40 more than some friends for a plane ticket.. when it came to leaving:- 7 long hard earth stomping days later - I was very happy to have paid that extra £40..!!  ( other friends flew straight to Alexandropoli.... they paid even more.. but I could see the truth ... ENJOY..It was a fantastic party last year... and will be this year Im sure......
... think ahead..!!??
