I'm in TA from the US until Saturday, and I'm pumped about it!

This is my first trip to Israel. Now, before you make any assumptions or answer any questions, just remember all the information about Israel and the middle east in the USA is from CNN - which means things blowing up. It's a shame because this is such a beautiful place. BTW, this is also my first trip to the middle east at all, so the culture is a very new experience for me as well.

That being said, I'm here, I KNOW you guys have some great psytrance (saw Infected Mushroom in DC and they rocked my pants off), this is the friendliest place in the region I've been to on this trip, and I wanna rave. I'm looking for any suggestions you have on events, clubs, raves, etc. happening between now and the end of the week. Sketchy is okay (all the best raves in the US are sketchy as all get-out) as long as people are very friendly, but places where people won't (or might not) like the presence of Americans are right out.

I'd LOVE to see IM again, but haven't seen any info on them in TA this week. My luck. If there aren't any events, suggestions on decent clubs would be great too! I love trance, but I also love anything funky - house, breaks, etc. The part of the US I grew up in had great funky house, but I'm guessing that might not be so big over here.

Some other random related questions:
- what do people wear out to clubs/raves around here?
- in the US, you always tip your bartender... here?
- saw the CD store recommendations. Very helpful! If I just say the name of the store, will a cab driver know where it is?

Thanks all, I appreciate any help you can give me. All of my little raver friends in the US are jealous of me coming over here, so now I need to give them something to be jealous of!

...to show how much of a winner I am, I'm replying to my own post here...

Before someone suggests it, I *did* check the events posts, but I really don't know what crews throw decent parties and such. In the US, a lot of parties end up being a bust (or get busted by the police). Obviously, I'm just a little hesitant of blindly showing up somewhere without knowing what's going on - or anyone there. Thanks again!!

1. dress code: none really, as long as you're decent. Much more respective or flashy for most big clubs, but can be your pijamas to a nature party (a real underground)

2. tipping a bartender: in bars, it is usually the same as if you sit at a table, 10-15% (or more ) at clubs or parties, unfortunately, less. A few shekels and many times nothing.

3. CD stores: chances are...... no. Address is best or at least the area.

feel free to ask more

Okay, werd. I'll do that. I don't want to just randomly pick a party though. Not to unintentionally knock any promoters, but not all the promoters in the US can actually pull off the parties they advertise for - or properly secure the venue.

Accidentally picking the wrong party is a big paranoia for me...

The things here are, that even parties from good and trusted (underground)promoters have chance being busted by cops.           -=Lead System Designer=-

Wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone for their help - here and via PM's. You guys & gals are fantastic.

Unfortunately, I got screwed by Royal Jordanian and have to leave tomorrow instead of Saturday, which means no weekend raving for me :-(

I'm going out tonight, though, and although I have a backup plan, it's a mainstream club so I'm still open to suggestions for undergrounds.

One other question about Israeli DJ's, but it's OT so I'll start another thread for it.
