What's your sample rate? 44.1khz or higher?
Are you using the ASIO drivers? If yes, which?

you can keep bouncing tracks, or use destructive edits in Cubase to save your processor and RAM quota. Although you probably know that already and find it a pain like me. Make sure your computer is well set up for running audio functions like Cubase etc.

Usually easier on your processor to mix down Reason parts then put them in Cubase rather than rewiring. It sounds like your computer is quite powerful already, should be enough for most things, otherwise get a faster processor and at least 1 gig of RAM if you can.

Perhaps cubase itself is the problem? I have a p4 2.4, 768ram, audigy2 and I use Fruityloops. I run:

- 4 vsti's (vanguard, 2 pro53 and some other (forgotten and too lazy to check)

- 25 vst's including 4 reverbs, at least 4 delays (some of them with high feedback) and a whole bunch of waves vst's and other efx and no cpu problem (but on the edge, cpu: 85%)

I also want to remark that I went from 256ram to 768 and it hardly gave any difference in cpu...
