Hi All,
Has anyone tried the Creative Audigy 4 Pro sound card? I am just starting to explore the world of music creation. I have read the good info on choosing a card.
Want to know from any1 if it is tried and tested?
Computer specs:
AMD Athlon FX55, Motherborad will be high-end Asus or MSI, RAM 1GB, Gforce 6800 graphic card those r the main highlights. the rest is CD and DVD rom etc.
Apprciate your feedback. If no one has tried it, I am putting the link in for the card (http://www.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=434&product=10853&nav=0) The specs seem to be up to par as per the info i got from this forum. If any experts have the time please chk it out and advice.
Thanks a mill!

Creative makes cards between consumer quality and semi pro. I think the audigy is good but i prefer get a card with same specs from another company that specialize in pro audio. RME and EMU make some excellen affordable cards, or if you want cheaper there is a decent terratek card. Just my oppinion, i stear away from Creative for pro audio... |

i would go for an emu pci souncard right now if i were you....
i had an audigy when i first started to make music, and of course is better than built in souncards, but cant compare to the dsp power and near zero latency of the emu, and for less money!!!!

also m-audio offers good soundcards for affordable prices...
all these brands mentioned here design sound cards for music making...emu, rme, m-audio
creative sound cards are more designed for the consumer for playing games, watching movies etc... |

audigy has lots of features, but creative are the worst at writing drivers, so you'll have to use third party drivers, also, i have the ancient sblive, and the AD/DA's just aren't good enough.... If i record something in the computer thru the AD/DA it just sounds noticeably worse... If i use the ad/da's from my hardware there's no problem... But if u intend to use this card i would really buy an external AD/DA and only let audio into the computer if it's already digital, that way you won't have a problem and it will be a great card with lot's of features for next to no money |
