4QF had it listed on it's website events calendar last time I checked but I have also heard rumors of a venue change as well.

I heard it wasn't happening because of everyone getting sick last year. But I could be wrong. |

good cant wait for the lineup! I'm already planning on coming but i'm stoked to see whats in store this time around.
if it is at 4 quarters, bring your own water and the problem is solved. 4 quarters does have the most premium dance floor I've ever had the pleasure of stomping on! I just hope the 4quarters people make it up to the gaian mind crew from last year if they get to host it again, there was some serious communication issues last year

yea, I LOVE that place, and for the most part, the people that run it.....but there are just SO MANY examples of them being huge assholes for no reason. My car stayed late to help GM crew clean up, as their volunteer core was pretty much cut in half, and then again, because of extreme sickness. (not that we werent sick, just didnt want to put more stress on anyone else that was staying and working their ASS off without proper safety measures in what was literally a giant petri dish),all the while being yelled @ by 4Q's staff, then, when we finally had to leave, they tried to charge us (Drew, correct me if I'm wrong) 40$ for "extended parking".... I've been treated like a piece of cattle, a convict, and an intern by my share of venue owners/ event staff....but I have NEVER been so close to becoming violent with them before...fucking indignant

let us emphasize though, this was in no way the fault of gaian minds organizers who also got violently ill from 4Q lying about water quality. also the ones who tried to charge us for camping were 4Q not gaian mind staff. I guess the thing is, there is usually a blur between the two when a venue and production company work together well, but this time around there was cleary a division between gmsf and 4Q, if that is reconsiled then I dont have a problem going back as the venue is amazing, I just hope the problems are fixed so we can get back to proper trancing!
I'll be back regardless, build it, I'm there and I'll come early to help set the thing up!

hmmm....anyone be down with trying to get either our own food vending tent, or at least a communal but not public food service....between us all and the desire to dance healthy, seems like a good idea

its sad and gross to be on an "earth religion sanctuary" and be treated like a piece of garbage by the people who own the land when you pay to be there. It's sickening- takes away from the joy and calmness of the land to know that its owned by fakes. It wasn't just last year either- the 4Q owners I have overheard them saying two years ago on sunday morning "ugh god when are these people going to leave". Gaian Mind brings them so much money and 4Q keeps wanting more and more but still treating the people like dirt.
4Q doesn't give a sh*t about people- honestly why else would you make people leave on sunday when everyone is extremely tired and probably still a little loopy from saturday night. I've fallen asleep on the road driving home from there and its scary. They let you stay of course, because they want to charge you 10 extra dollars per person to camp. GREEDY with no respect to human life.
Oh and they also blame the sickness for coming from Gaian Mind's CREW kitchen. And they want to ban GM from having a crew kitchen- so that means everyone would be forced to eat that pig SLOP that the kitchen serves as food. Another disgusting trait they are greedy about. This situation wouldn't be so bad if the venue actually gave a damn or if it wasn't supposed to be a religious place where you'd think people would care. If they cared about people- they would have taken the illness serious as there were several children and pregnant women there and not blown it off as "oh i thought those people just drank too much"!
sorry for the long rant- even if Gaian Mind Fest is at 4Q, I still might go, but I think a change of venue in the future might be a good idea to look into, and not just because of the sickness. I don't think GM should put up with being treated like this- show 4Q how much they depend on GM's income. Unless there is significant change including attitude adjustments to 4Q staff, having the fest there also may affect fest attendance. Much love to Sharon and Allen and all the rest of the people who make GMSF happen- you guys rock. |

Relax children.... focus your mental energy on an ethereal mountain playground with crystal waters and jagged peaks piercing the sky and we might just end up moving our giant game of duck duck goose to a bigger and better playground. And if you get some free time volunteer yourself to help out in setting up the new COSM... the sooner its done the sooner we can have a permanent home with someone that everyone knows is a stand up individual, not to mention endless interdimensional portals for us to travel through while we're there. |

not trying to ride on the negativity, altho my whole family (wife, 2year old) got very very ill on the last night forcing us to leave the location amidst a hellish storm) i try not to focus blame on anyone and i try to look at what we could have done differently. Ive been going to festivals big and small for over 10 years now without negative incidents and i think that maybe helped in my complacency in regards to water sources IE: dont drink out of the spiget coming out of the ground just yards away from a overflowing toilet...or where 1500 people are bathing at....actually we spent the entire summer living out of our car and we attended several gatherings but ALWAYS arrived with at least 10 gallons of drinkable water. Gaian Mind was different as we drove straight from gemini to PA expecting that an established campground, and a festival we spent 200+ dollars for would have drinkable water.
I am grateful for the hardships that where bestowed upon me and mine for it taught us MANY lessons.
I did however have an ABSOLUTE BLAST for the first 4 days....
i did get a funky vibe from a few of the 4Q staff like yeah they really didnt want us there but cant so no to the large amount of money we generate.
i will attend again this year 4QF or not |
