Anyone knows a website about studio monitors news? new stuff and prices, etc? I'm saving 5000 euros for something very good when it comes out! It sucks that monitors that came out 1 year ago still cost the same

If i was gonna spend that amount of money on monitors it would be either of these:

Focal Twin6:

Klein + Hummel 0300:

I'm not sure why would you want a totally new monitor design...

As a general 'rule', a good monitor has been tested by many professionals and has been there for a few years.

For that amount of money, you could invest in some really nice mid-fields - bare in mind that you have a big room for them.
If you have a small room, then you could even spend less for the best near-field pair.

I have heard very good words about ATC monitors.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Hi mates, thanks for the replies!

I want to buy new ones because it's all about technology ?!?!? like computers!
No point paying the same for 1 year old monitors if the new model will come out in some months !?!

My room isn't that big, i'm thinking about buying near-field

Actually electromechanical speaker technology hasn't changed much in about 100 years. Maybe better magnets (neodymium) and interesting stiff/light materials such as hexacomb, nomex or woven Kevlar - but even with the greatest materials it really comes down to the overall design and shape, internal box volume, crossover design, amplifier used to power the device, the room you place them in.. everything.

Monitors are a very personal choice, and one persons perfect, may be another persons hell.

There are some noted sound engineers that use monitors that have been condemned, but insist they produce great mixes on them.

Some much older speakers are still in demand because they had that 'special something' despite how long ago they were introduced. NS-10's spring to mind, despite their debatable sound quality.

Even in ADAM speakers - which have a very unique and modern folded ribbon tweeter, the ribbon idea is just an update of an old technology.

Newer doesn't always mean better.

I am still in love with a pair of Wharfdale Diamonds for my general listening, they gotta be about 20 years old.

Why not spend say €3500 on really good small nearfields that will adapt nicely to the size of your room and spend he other €1500 on acoustic treatment for your room so that you are ensuring that you are getting the best, cleanest and true sound from your WAY expensive monitors.

It seems almost pointless to me if you buy such top quality monitors and let your room discolor their true sound and potential.

This is obviously me assuming you have a bare room with little to no treatment.

+1 and to add u can get 2500$ on monitors 1500$ on treatment and 1000$ on a good dac and than u will be on the right path.

but to be the bad one today.. (men have period also )
u are so advanced that cheaper monitors dont get u the sound u are after? or u think u will get those to make very bad mixes sound better.. if im wrong than spend it on monitors and treatment if im right get ur self some decent monitors and try to improve ur mixing skills before u throw away all that cash.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

Deffinately not like computers.
1 year old design for a speaker is a design in diapers... It's considered very new.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

I believe i have good room treatment, i live in a old house... walls are made with sand inside (no bricks) and have a wooden floor & ceiling, i'm going to put some sound isolation in the floor and ceiling!

My question here is about the monitors and i want to buy some new ones, unless a store drops the price for stuff 1 or 2 years old!

I have a professional Xone 92 mixer, i believe i could use it as a DAC and connect the monitors

I'm not sure what you mean by new;
If you want to get new monitors from the factory, then that's what it will be - new in the box with the smell and plastic covering...
I'm quiet sure that no store will drop the price for a monitor, unless it's been lying there sealed in a box and no one have wanted to buy it for 2 years.

xone92 doesn't have a dac inside, no digital inputs whatsoever.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

It has line inputs... i already connect my soundcard to the xone 92 mixer and it outputs in xlr to my studio monitors
