since you mention a mac book, and not a mac book pro, presumably it's not the most recent mac around?
if that's the case, then Logic Studio 9 would be a better option then Logic X, performance wise - and maybe even your only option, since X requires 64 bit everything - which is no problem in modern machines but can be quite demanding on older ones. If music production is what you're looking for, a solid responsive system is more important then a few more features, specially when it makes a big difference in terms of stability and performance. Same goes for plug-ins, the same plug-ins by waves audio in recent updates demand at least a core 2 duo processor and 2 GB of ram, while I've used them for years on lesser computers - the exact same plug-ins. Many times on older machines, the latest software isn't the best option. |
