any psy / progressive scene in sri lanka?
beach parties, venues, festivals etc?
anything planned for new years?
i know this is the india forum, but i figured if anyone knows then indians...

theres pretty much no proper scene in srilanka..
but if you are lucky you might find some tourists in Hikkaduwa ,Unwatuna onr Argum Bay spinning some psychedelic trance in the shacks ...this is quite rare but it does happen usually in dec jan where there is most tourists on the beach strip..
in colombo there are a few clubs playing till the early hours of morning but its mostly a mixture of hip hop rn b ,desi electro etc ...
there is one festival in july called the hikkaduwa beach fest which is quite nice..
they do play some progessive and tribal house...
I got a chance tp play some psy at the fest for the first time and i surprisingly got good feedback from the crowd ..i think there is potential for trance in sri lanka but it will take some time ...
but it is a very beautiful place even if there is nothin happening ..get ur cds and player along ...have a good one ...
