i used to hate earbuds, but they're kinda growing on me. wondering if anyone uses earbuds to mix, or if that's totally lame...

there are pretty good ones, wich are formed with kinda gum to fit excact in you ear..with -15db or even -25 db. They are very linear and its definatly possible to dj with them.

the thing is , your ear grows further and after about two years you will need to remake those earbuds.

they cost alot of money..

Earbuds as in the strictly protective kind? If yes then forget it and turn down the volume to a more comfortable level (such earbuds are very seldom linear either and would impede your judgement). If we are talking about using earbud headphones then it´s something that can be discussed.

yeah, i'm talking about earbud headphones. i was wondering if maybe the way they shift around slightly in your ear would mess with your ability to mix well, or if they just don't get quality sound, or whatever else. i just like how much less bulky and annoying they are than my over-ear headphones, but don't want to fuck up my mixes.

lol, i can't imagine working with the volume so high you need ear protection

when you are mixing rock and metal bands 4-5 times a week front of house or monitor you`ll be happy to have some linear ear protection.
As Dj it`s usually not necessary but i thoought you mean that. So with earbuds you mean In-Ear Headphones right?

i dont believe there is, but if any i would suggest the ones by sennheiser..they might come to that level in a way..
