Like UAD card does to its pluging, is there any kind of card that we can install at a standard pc to transfer the plugins processing to it and help cpu? I mean use any plugin we have with that card, not specific plugins under the same card s brand...
If there is, which should work? How powerfull is it? How do you assign the plugins to be processed by the card, not by the pc cpu itself?
If there there isn t such a card, I was only wondering about it....

i don't think this exists. I would recommend you to get a power cpu, du 2 core or quadcore, then you should have very large CPU headroom.

But i would go for a card (or 2, or 3 ) like UAD or TC, you save a lot cpu for your VSTi by doing most dynamic processing on the DSP cards.           myspace.com/auralinvasion

Hi,
I'm not sure if I understood your right:

http://www.fx-max.com/fxt/

this is a software that allows you to use ANY plugins installed in ANOTHER computer, via LAN on your MainComputer.

Latency is lower than with some DSP solutions.

you can add many PCs if you like and so double tripple, what ever your CPU power.

You can use the remote plugins in your maincomputer just the way you use the normal plugins. the second computer doesn't need a screen.

Gigabit LAN recommended.

check this thread out if you wonder why the latency is lower than dsp.

i agree that it would make alot more sense to go for a UAD or TC powercore than to just have more VST power. you can take both a load off the cpu and have better sounding plugs.

Yip... the plugins are in a league of their own, soundwise, without hogging your CPU. I would definatly buy a UAD-1 and a Powercore again if i had to choose again.

You're right, i'd wait until this card comes out and buy several dumped UAD-1's and Powercores on Ebay for almost no money

I wonder if proud companies like UAD or TC jump on that train..

Even if, It's not the DSP that costs the money, but the plugins. So you wont get much cheaper.

I assume that DSP solutions wont change to an independent platform since they will then be cracked as any native plugin.

UADs processing power is relatively weak for nowadays. plugin quality is very good, but in my opinion URS are different but equal, I have an UAD, bust still use the URS a lot.

So if you already have good native plugins, and an old computer standing around... even a 2ghz will give you the same additional power as an UAD, possibly even more. Get FXteleport and it is much cheaper than a DSP card.           Most of my music for you to download at:

Adrenal Mode - Sounds like a fantastic idea, only I think any hardware developers like access and nord wouldnt move to it simply to protect their intellectual property from piracy. Fact is if a nord modular could run on a standard piece of dsp hardware, then they wouldnt sell as much nord modulars, coz the pirazy boyz would find it too tasty a tidbit.
Also the inability to pirate the synths gives them even more appeal. I think if they did go to standard dsp solutions they would be shooting themselves in the foot. However nvidia would stand to gain a lot of non gamer customers. Wish nvidia would make it happen since its in their interest.

FX teleport is the best solution.

You can even add a few computers to have a super FARM.

FX Teleport is neat, but in the end UAD/Powercore is cheaper. Remember each PC runs about 400-500Watts!           myspace.com/auralinvasion
