I got the d9000T and it is awsome. Although it will come bundled with all sorts of garbage, its nothing that is to troublesome for the money. I have never had to deal with hp support but if you compare the price of this laptop with others with the same features you will find yourself paying a lot extra for a logo. Seriously I love hp computers for their features, price, and the look is killah.
Good buy, snag that piece up.
I look forward to stompin to your tunes this summer at Alladin. I can't wait. Take care! |

I have the previous model from HP(wich is much prettier imho.. lol). But the Centrino Duo version.
I donīt know how u play live, but assuming u will not push the laptop to the limit, this computer will be more than ok!
Just some personal bad opinions about it:
-Iīm still trying to get my M Audio FW 410 working properly. No big issues, like crashes during live; but annoying ones, like u canīt change the volume of the soundcard while running any other audio software.
-If u use a firewire conection, and u are also right handed.. The plug is the 4pin one, so itīs very easy to disconect... This, plus the fact that the plug is at right side of the lap, made me crash the soundcard some times(now Iīm more atent to this). Alhouthg I donīt know if this new one has the plug at left side.
-And I have a feelling that HP laptops comes with some "security" features... For example, I canīt install another Windows... Only the one that come with the laptop. I tried to reach support, and hereīs the answer: "We(HP) do not support this kind of instalation. If u want to do it, u need to do it by yourself. Also be careful about all drivers, as u will need to get them anywhere, and we donīt tell u how to get them."
So, the bottom line: If u want to change the OS, I need to pay for a "tech guy" to do it... WTF?????
-Fuc**ng promo stickers!!!!
But at least for me, it was a great buy. I read the specs of all avaiable "price range" laptops, and NO DOUBT that HP is the one with more features(some good and some bad).

I have just bought this laptop, the only doubt I got is the hard drive spinning at 5400 rpm.
What is your experience with a 5400 rpm on a laptop ?
But it does have a 2 gig ram......

good CPU, turion has balls
but even if u have a huge CPU, a 15.000 RPM drive, or even 16 GB RAM, they useless when it comes to the chipset, and HP sucks hardly there
my preferations
1.Apple
2.Alienware
3.Sony Vaio
Tips:
No PENTIUM or ATHLON CPU's, only CENTRINO and TURION
nLite ur XP for what u need it, intergrate drivers, remove components, u can shrink a 600 MB system into a 150, that should give u a nice boost when it comes to Durability, especially Cubase runs damn better when u have XP UNDER CONTROL
