It's good that after 5 years this thread will finally find its resolution. (The last few abakus releases didn't fit the bill IMO, to uptempo to be called downtempo).
The sample tune sounds good, as does the Tripswitch remix (check abakus' facebook page for details).
And Russ does day that the album will be released very soon....! |

this tune is good....personally I think he should have ended it after 4 min, but thats just me these days.
My standards for Abakus music has been significantly lowered over the years so really I'm just happy that its not another house track. Though I do have quite a fondness for the track "Dreams of Neon"....always reminds me of this time i played it at some party on a rooftop in the summer. good memories
Anyway, glad Russ is giving us chill heads what we've been wanting

@ mdjm, you're very welcome, had to post this after discovery. 
personally loved the abakus tech-house (?) sound... it actually opened the door to a new scene, never got into it previously because the mainstream stuff always sounded like dj tracks and tv commercials, Abakus took it and made some beautiful songs. then of course did dig a lot deeper and found a lot of good music out there.
but yeah, Russell back, infact the whole psychill scene is back. and as always the guys who had their finger on the pulse all through are the ones from the dub & heavy psychedelic side. massive respect to guys like Nagual Sound Experiment, Morphonix and the Cloudcycle dudes.
