Hi guys! So, I'm just wondering if anyone got some tips and techniques to share on high tech, psycore style music making.
Anything is highly appreciated... |

listen to others i guess..and obsorb everything you are hearing.....LOL GOOD LUK WITH THAT AT THAT SPEED lol.... jokin aside
not unless u put a 200bpm song in your DAW and decrease the tempo down to 100 and below...atleast you will get a chance to hear the inner details to put a finger on whats going the fuk on and arrangment, fx techniques being used....? hmm idea i guess |

Yes analyzing is a good weapon.
Seems like lots of repeats/stuttering with several automated delays, pitch shift with filter in the end is commonly used on leads.
Similar to the original dark recipe, just more effect play and rapid changing arrangements.
But then i maybe shouldn't go that way since it's so overused and getting boring.
I guess i should just experiment with unconventional approaches.
Really love the sound of artists like ZuVuYa, so experimental and taking the psytrance to a whole different level. |

Bass root note higher then slower (traditional?) dark psy. The tone has more mids to it, the snappy sound you get with fast filter envelope modulation and even the click on the attack is welcome - like on some full on music. You still need the bass ground there, though, so if having troube - and at such high bpm, there's not much time for frequencies to develop fully, just layer.
Besides that, use gated sequences, make 3d (stereo placement) patterns, cut your audio after rendering down, experiment a lot with everything: pitch shift, reverse, pitch enveloping, looping small bits and automating the shit out of it, even tempo change, going up or down, get as many time-stretch algorithms you can get your hands on.
