hi,

are there any recommendable mixing (maybe mastering included) video tutorials out there?
... containing the usual "tricks" (starting with kick+bass at -10db e.g.)!

i read a lot of theory about this stuff and now i want to final mix my first full-on track as good as i can.

so now i'm also searching for a good vid-tutorial just for that "absolutely sure about that what i'm doing"

so any hints?

one technique I see chatted up a lot is to start off with your kick/bass levels at wherever with everything else muted, then bring the elements in one at a time mixing as you go.

Also, Cosmosis was talking about mixing into a compressor on the master as an interesting experiment. I forget the reason why you'd want to do that, something about dynamic range and not being able to push the volume past the compressor threshold or something.

Anyways, my relatively novice experience with mixing has been to have as many A/B comparisons available as possible. Trust your ears, not numbers!            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I would like to know if you can provide me a link or so to that video (?) that Cosmosis talked about that compressor in the master bus ?

since i take cosmosis videos and tips to be very honest, and is information/tricks/way of work helped me alot in the past...           http://www.soundcloud.com/hybrid-species
