Sidechain compression is an interesting concept, you are basically using one sound to cut out another sound. Most people use this effect to ensure that a bass and kick don't play together but you could use it for anything you want i.e open hat stopping closed hat to get authentic drummer sound.
Assign bass to say FX3 and kick to FX4.
Add a peak controller on FX4. This will feed the compressor that you add in FX3. Unmute the peak controller as you want to hear the kick.
Add a compressor on FX3 and link the 'threshold' knob to the "Peak+Lfo" of the peak controller.
If this is done correctly the the kick should cut out the bass a bit.
Hope this small tutorial helped some of u cause i didnt got the idea with the Waves-C1 SC plug

Yes that's the easy way to sidechain in FL , i don't like it latrely though cause it seems to me that it produces some very annoying clicks ... or am i doing something wrong here ?

yes sure u do something wrong i do it always and its great
i sidechain it direct to bass volume not to a compressor.
the real tip is to make it INVERTED

yes
and btw - its a damm shame to use this tool for compressor only.. it can control your pitch, lfo's , and anything that can be automated
peak control is defintly one thing u can present as "fruity power"
try link the pad volume to the percussions (inverted again!) so perc. will mute the pad

Hi can anyone tell me if you can use a sidechain
for effects ?
I would like my effectsounds to end more "exactly" at different timesignatures.
Right know i only use the adsr on the synth to decide the lengths of my effects and i find it quite difficult.
I would like my effects to have the same rytm as my song, i hope you understand what i mean. |

@ conny - try to make full sustain and zero realese and just draw the length
@ piko - inverted - meens oposite.
lets say i have a kick . so when it hits peak is going up while we need the volume for the bass to go down and not to follow the peak - but the exact oposite, therefor - inverted.
(u can find this in - Link to controller>mapping formula)

@tsabeat i think this is already happening correctly if you handle the parameters on the Peak Controller properly... or not ?
