I've always been quite fond of tool and certainly have a lot of respect for them, but I could never listen to an album all the way through.

Does that make me a bad person?

I was afraid of that.

I always liked this english band called miocene. Similar in style sort of, but a lot more... dirty and raw. I loved that at the time.

Lateralus(the album) is a masterpiece but the structure of the songs are different enough that it takes a ton of listening to the album to really get into it.
The music on the album isn't at all something that catches your ear quickly, but I can't imagine for anyone that likes psytrance they wouldn't love this album if they give it the proper chance.           http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain_in_a_vat
