i can`t figure out how to create a return channel for my nl2. its connected via midi to the sound card and via audio thorugh a mixer to the sound card. now how do i make a channel for it in the cubase mixer. and how do i put effects on it?
i tried using it the stereo in channel but its not the answer. do i have to do it through the asio platform? or what?

If u want only to play the nord, just create an audio track, and press "monitor" button@the track(next to the record button).
To play the notes on Cubase, u create a midi track and put the right "in/out" connection of midi.
U need to be sure the inputs of the soundcard are "on", and that your vst connections are ok(u must have the inputs routed to any bus,and route the bus to the audio track).
I hope that´s it!

i dont think its possible to put real time effects.
Unless u have an outboard effects processor.
But if its possible that would be great to know.

Hi there,
http://www.sx-tutorials.de/
this is german - but there u certainly find a tutorial for what u want to do...
and , btw , it is possible to calculate vst effects on ur dry audio signal which is cooming from the nord - in realtime without recording ur signal first...
i would say ---> rtfm!
Cheers

"If u want only to play the nord, just create an audio track, and press "monitor" button@the track(next to the record button)." To listen real time fx, put the fx u want at the audio channel...
Again: it IS possible to put real time fx to any input at Cubase. U only need to press monitor button and be sure the input of the soundcard is well configured!

i know how to play midi and record audio, its basic. but i want to process the sound coming in , in real time.
just like a vst chanel...
i don`t know if i got this right but what your saying is i just have to create a bus for it? and how exactly do i do this?? (i know what vst connections are so no need to go over that). do i route the stereo in bus to another bus which i created? is that the way?
p.s
thanks for the feedback everbody.
oh and billy... should i call an ambulance for u? u know the guys with the white suits.. and your favorite pijama oh ! and your medication ofcourse!!!

I will try to explain step by step(sorry for my confusing english lol). For this example I will put a delay on the nord(let´s assume u have the nord keybord):
1-Create an audio track...
2-Go to the "Vst Connections", and check if the input where nord is routed, is avaiable.(the input must be as ANY bus. usually, if u have 2 inputs soundcard, the BUS INPUT 1 should be an stereo one, with L/R input routed to each channel)...
3-At the audio track u´ve created, check if the "out" is routed to the right input of the soundcard(if u are playing the nord MONO, check if u placed the nord at Left or Right input, and choose this one)...
4-Press "monitor" button at the audio track(it´s an orange one when lit, next to the record button). I THINK U ARE MISSING THIS STEP!!!
After this step u should be hearing the nord when u play it...
5-Open the audio channel and put the delay as insert(u can use the send also).
Now u will have the nord sound, with real time delay on it.
Am I clear enough this time??
PS: Cubase Sx 2.2!

i figured it out just b4 u posted your message sms. but lots of thanks anyways. what i did is what u said only somehow it doesn`t work if i use the stereo in chanel. i had to open a second input bus. which uses the same inputs as the stereo in one. (only got 2 in`s on the soundcard) . i`m just kinda puzzled about why it doesn`t work when i use the stereo in chanel... its exactly the same........
