I have a song that i just converted it to MP3 but its not loud enough, is there a way to increase the volume besides the mixer? Thanx           "There is a thin line between drug using and drug abusing, and to see it is very tricky."

compressor is not a good tool to just increase volume, in fact it's probably going to decrease it unless you use make up gain.

first try to normalize the file, if that's not enough use a limiter.           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." Russolo, 1913

Waves L2 or L3 maximizer.

Use the search function, there's been a lot of posting on compression & maximizers and most people won't want to type out a lot of explanation.

Good mixing and mastering is just something thats going to take a lot of time and experience to learn.

The hardest part of learning to make music is accepting the fact that despite whatever good parts you've made, on the whole, your early tracks are inevitably going to suck when compared to professional songs.

Yeah, thats the point, especially with low quality files like mp3.
I find and a chruncy/satured feel some times when in combination with disto/sature...
Btw,if u wonna be a pro you learn how to work like them, how to afford it
Studying and studying while hearing/listening helps me a lot.

Does anyone knows the difference bettwen hearing/listenning?

Try the "adaptive limiter" into logic,, is quiet good for make a pre mastering.

for have a good level into my mixes, after the bounce i use the L1 ultramax by wave 4,, cool stuff.....
but be carefull with the treshold, is possible to destroy the dynamics & the sound.
