hi and good morning people

I have a question regarding a lead I hear alot in Zik's music, its that ripping/crackling kinda sound, you can hear it here at 0,46sec https://soundcloud.com/alexzikis/sweet-dreams

so i think ive managed to make a similar sound with albino, with the lfo modulating the filter cutoff, but my problem is that I dont know how to write it in midi notes.

Ive tried 32nd and 16th notes, some longer some shorter, but man i just cant get.

If anyone could shed some light on this as ive read through the forum and the lead thread but no joy.

anyway, hi to everyone and thanks for all the great tips throughout the forum.

get some rich noise going, like a couple of sawtooth oscillators detuned appart from each other, anything from a few cents to whole octaves (try).

modulate the pitch of both oscillators with either an envelope or an lfo (in mono mode and without restart function) - or both at the same time. a couple of octaves. you can assign the modulation wheel to the attack of the envelope used or the decay (or both) and/or the rate of the LFO or the amount that it's affecting the pitch (try all of this)... also modulate the pitch. about midi: play with short and bigger notes for getting groovy phrases. an arp with sustain option could set you on the right path pretty damn fast. no release on the amp envelope.

try inverting the polarity on the filter's envelope. having the filter envelope controlling the pitch sounds nice to, try it both ways: different envelopes and the same. play with the amount and try to assign the env amount knob to mod wheel as well and play with it... filter saturation/overdrive/distortion is welcome. also try and modulate the amount of it with envelopes, lfo, mod wheel or whatever. squelchy stuff to keep you busy for ever.

the other sound is probably a reversed atmospheric pad like sound washed with some reverb.
