i love these types of threads. i always learn so much. there was a time when isratrance had a steady supply of these types of threads, but they seem to have died a little bit.

the sound i have in mind is a typical 3d vision lead. a good example would be CPU's first cd, the track called "Height Street Freak." The sound begins to fade in around 2 mins 15 secs and is full force by around 2 mins and 30 secs. Any tips or hints on making this sound? I tend to use discoDSP, Albino, and Vangaurd alot.

I really dont want a step-by-step tutorial, just some good educated hints... but dont be too general.

anyway, these types of threads are great learning tools, so don't be afraid to ask this type of thing in the future. and be sure to share your knowledge.

now educate me!

i would like to know too,you can do pretty close sound with a virus ,it s 2 osc pulse with pw modulation with not too fast, not too slow lfo and not too much fm amount and hi pass or/and bandpass filter modulation via lfo,i hope it help you a bit,try with vanguard but i dont remember if it has fm... and maybe this patch was done in a very different way ..but you can be close like that .

use noise when you play with the osc. add fm. and some eq and flange can do it. try to use Syntn1, i remember doing that with this one.

jeto - still not quite sure of what sound it is exactly that we're talking about here, but if its the usual scratchy CPU type sound your talking about - try vanguard, with detuned saws, fairly quick LFO on PWM, some drive, glide, HP. and add a seperate filter (like antares) so you just get the scratchy high freq of the sound your after. some phasing, maybe even a little bit of bitcrusher and your good to go
