Can anybody please help me with info about, samples, what vst bass, eq settings, compressor settings (side chain...??) and so on....
Thanx.

That sounds like every full-on track I've ever heard. Almost certainly that's a VB-1 for the bass.

1. read the faq
2. find mike a's bass line tutorial.
3. read it
4. do it.
5. read kaz's disgretions.
6. kick yourself for being unoriganel.

option 2
1. goto the top of the page
2. click insearch
3. write bass line
4. click search
5. read.
6. read kaz's disgretions
7. kick youself for being unoriginal           Work like you don't need the money.

hey icedice man ... lissen , its very important that you dont get discouraged and loose hope if u dont get things to sound to way you want them to , for a couple of months .. .sooon every thing will start falling in place .. as you yourself wil learn from your own mistakes , from other ppl's music , your experience and skill in music making will increase ... these things take time man ... its better if it takes some time .. but u "understand" wat u are doing to the sound as u go along !

like somebody already said ... the bass is definately vb-1 [ can notice how much it sucks .. lol .. ] and the kick is kinda muddy ... not much of top end to the kick ....

so just make sure ... u keep working always and be very sure .. u use the right sequencer in the first place .. a lot of times and many muers find it frustrating and difficult when they have to move over from fruity loops / reason to sx or logic !

[ im not saying tht fl / reason are bad or something ! dont start another fl v/s etc etc war ! ... just trying to help him ]

so getting back to the point .. the sequencer u use has a very important role in deteriming your overall final sound ... most of the professional artists i know use Cubase sx / Nuendo / Logic pro to make music ...

so its better u start off from the beginning in the right direction!

good luck and be happy !

respect ...

yours psychadelic ,
chandan !

wavelogix - i don't think he was asking for criticism on the bassline that he posted. he wanted tips on howto make his bass sound like that.

icedice - try the vb1 with shorter notes (1/32). everything else you'll be able to learn from Mike A's bass tutorial. use the search

dude wavelogix as illusions said no one asked for ur stupid critism if u dunno how to use vb-1 to its full potential thts ur prblem , i knw many astists using it and u wont believe when u hear the names

@ icedice - try using 3 1/64 th notes u will get the sound all as u can see ther has to be a decent pattern a simple cc liek pattern on vb-1 wont sound good and the EQ and compression especially important on vb-1 make sure u cut out the highs prperly and leave little room if u want tht slight morning click peace good luck

Thats NOT vb-1! (and remember that every thing I say is right )

Seriously. I'm shure that's not vb-1 but as said before - try vb-1! Would get you a similar result.

well, i dont see it so funny. i do think that kick & bass are over rated.
ppl complains about unoriginal kick & bass but it works! how original can you be and still keep the tightness & power of it?
