my head seems to be a sponge for all annoying songs and anyone that knows me will verify that I will randomly start singing along with my head recent songs have included milkshake by kelis, do ray mi from sound of music chitty chitty bang bang and other classics however at the moment I am working with people who also sing along to their head and I am getting lots of weird stuff stuck in my head today I have got "is it cos I am cool" does anyone else suffer from this and maybe have any remedies as I really should sort this out I have been singing Milkshake and its about driving me crazy never mind everyone else around me
any similar cases ..
Peace ..
Respect!

just start listening to some quality music, preferably some without vocals that will stick in your head...listen to the music you like and remember how it sounds, start humming that instead
every once in a while it happens to me that I accidentaly start singing some really crappy stuff I catch from tv and that's always a sign that I haven't been listening to good music for a while

for me the problem happens when i catch a stupid tune, most likely on tv immedietly after waking up...
then i`m helpless for the rest of the day, because when a moment of silence occurs, the bloody thing just pops into my mind. i solve this by playing other music before exiting my room, passing by the tv.

IM's Becoming Insane is stuck in my head for the last week. I have tried Drugs, Alcohol, a hammer and a construction drill to get it out but all failed.

Earworm (Helicoverpa zea) :
Earworm, a loan translation of the German Ohrwurm, is a term for a song stuck in one's head, particularly an annoying one. Use of the English translation was popularised by James Kellaris, a professor of marketing at the University of Cincinnati. His studies appeared to demonstrate that different people have varying susceptibilities to earworms, but that almost everybody has been afflicted with one at some time or another.
Some sufferers from earworm prefer the term "repetunitis", "stuck tune syndrome", "sound virus" or, if sufficiently acute, "melodymania."
Earworms may be songs or tunes that become stuck in the phonological loop, the part of the brain that rehearses verbal information in Baddeley's Model of Working Memory.

Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha
Oh, baby dolls
I know you like me (I know you like me)
I know you do (I know you do)
Thats why whenever I come around shes all over you
And I know you want it (I know you want it)
It's easy to see (it's easy to see)
And in the back of your mind
I know you should be home with me
[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha
Fight the feeling (fight the feeling)
Leave it alone (leave it alone)
Cause if it aint love
It just aint enough to leave a happy home
Let's keep it friendly (let's keep it friendly)
You have to play fair (you have to play fair)
See, I dont care
But I know she aint gon' wanna share
[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha , baby
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha
I know I'm on your mind
I know we'll have a good time
I'm your friend
I'm fun
And I'm fine
I aint lying
Look at me, you aint blind [2x]
See, I know she loves you (I know she loves you)
I understand (I understand)
I'd probably be just as crazy about you
If you were my own man
Maybe next lifetime (maybe next lifetime)
Possibly (possibly)
Until then, Oh friend your'e secret is safe with me
[Chorus]
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me
Dont cha, dont cha
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was raw like me
Dont cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me
Dont cha, dont cha

'it takes two to make a thing go right'
im not internationally known,
but im known to rock the microphone,
cuz i get stupid,
i mean outrageous,
stay away from it could be contagious,
cuz im the man,
no im not a loser,
to be an mc,
is what i choosa,
the ladies love me,
the girls adore me,
even the one's who never saw me,
the way that i rock at a show,
the reason why?
i dont know,
so.......
it takes two to make a thing go right
it takes two to make it out of sight.....

Artist: Mansun
Song: Wide Open Space
I'm in a wide open space, I'm standing
I'm all alone and staring into space
It's always quiet thru' my ceiling
The roof comes in and crashes in a daze
I'm in a wide open space, it's freezing
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
I'm on the top of a hill, I'm lonely
There's someone here to shout to miles away
I could be back in my house, for I care
They do not hear me, it's the same old case
I'm in a wide open space, it's freezing
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
Wide open space, I'm standing
I'm all alone and staring into space
It's always quiet thru' my ceiling
The roof comes in and crashes in a daze
I'm in a wide open space, it's freezing
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
I'm in a wide open space, it's freezing
You'll never get to heaven with a smile on your face from me
I'm in a wide open space, I'm staring
There's something quite bizarre I cannot see
