When I edit a midi part and add a note, all the notes after the note I added move forward. This is a pain in the neck!
Anyone?

let say you made a midi part and you want to take the same part and multiply it as much as you can.
when you are doing it you are making a 'ghost copy' (Ctrl+drag) of the first midi part , so if you change the first midi part you are changing in paralel the other parts as well.
what you should do is :
1.You can use this operation Alt+drag on the part -> it makes a real copy (not ghost).
2. drag all the same parts (the midi part + the ghosts) right, now take a ghost copy and put him in a way that he will be the first part, now get inside the part change as you wish, now when you get out of the part the Cubase will ask you if you want to convert it to real copy, press yes.
there are more ways to make this operation, but you should descover your own method, its the best way.
Hope i helped you, goodluck

I'm not sure if I understood but check if the 'foot' symbol is pressed

Are you talking in the pencil tool in the Piano Roll?

Yeah, when I add a note using the pencil tool in the piano roll all the notes in the same midi part, and only in that part, move forward. And the foot symbol is not pressed. BTW, when I delete a note, all the notes after it move backwards. |

Problem solved: Near the foot sign there is an "in" symbol with an arrow beneath it. I was sure it has something to do with the midi in, but it turned out to be an "insert" button.
