Who/what is ANIMAL VOICE?
To start with, Animal Voice it's not a new psy-trance project... ;o)
It's more like a place on the net where attention is brought upon the animals family - in all its shapes, colours and issues.
It's a new born project where many animals related topics are highlighted, and where you can find a collection of hot links, videos, articles and petition spots on the internet.
Animal Voice goal is to raise more awareness on the way animals are treated allover the world, in any field, from the most common issue of vegetarianism to more shocking news like the cat and dog fur trade ongoing in places like China and Czechoslovakia (where they manufacture fur-clothes that are successively sold as cheaper brands in european and american markets....you may have in your closet one of those jackets with a fur rim on the hood ...and guess what... it probably come from a chinese Fido or Garfield...).
Check the Animal Voice blog to know more about this and other news that don't reach the first page of mainstream newspapers and televisions.
Many of us in this music scene have pets and/or love animals, so for all of you out there who would like to know more on how to improve the lives of our furry friends, please visit the Animal Voice blog:

You Are Very Welcome!

Wow!! Nice topic.. I know that animal rights are still far away.. there is a petition wich is for dogs in the philippines... as you know over there they are used to eat dogs and the more they soffer they say the more are good to eat........... HORRIBLE!
Here is:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/879609320
sign sign sign!
Anyway is my personal opinion that if someone fights for pets rights he should be vegetarian, it is a question of coherence, what do you think about it? |

Hey Hymal
Im glad you're interested in this topic!
About the dogs in th Filippines, it's a very fresh news & it didnt circulate wide enough yet... but it a GOOD NEWS! and here it is:
"PHILLIPINES Ban on sale of dog meat now a law !!
By Joyce Pangco Pañares
http://www.manilastandardtoday.com/?page=news5_june1_2007
CONGRESS has passed a law banning the trading in dog meat and promoting the elimination of rabies through mandatory dog immunization.
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo signed the law, the “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007,” and allocated P100 million to implement it.
“We have become more animal-conscious now,” Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said.
“Dogs are friends. They guard our homes, and we in return take care of them. Some of us even sleep beside our pets,” he said.
Republic Act 8845, passed in 1998, bans the trading in dog meat, but its implementation has been selective as most provinces in the north of the country hide behind “tradition” to justify eating dogs.
In Baguio alone, residents consume about 200 dogs a day, according to animal rights advocate Network for Animals.
Network representative Melchor Alipio said the P5,000 fine imposed in RA 8845 was too small compared with the P55 million that dog traders earned annually.
Section 11 of the new law imposes a P5,000 fine for every dog killed or traded for its meat and a jail term of one year to four years.
“If the violation is committed by an alien, he or she shall be immediately deported after service of sentence without any further proceedings,” the law says.
The law also requires dog owners to have their pets vaccinated regularly against rabies or face a fine of P2,000. Dog owners who let their dogs stray will be fined P500 for each stray.
The law tasks the agriculture department to give free anti-rabies shots in depressed areas, and the health department to stock cheap anti-rabies vaccines for humans.
Stray dogs will be impounded at government dog pounds.
“Impounded dogs not claimed after three days from the dog pound shall be placed for adoption to qualified persons with the assistance of an animal welfare non-government organization,” the law says."
....and about being vegetarian, i fully agree with u, and as i said in another topic - I am ...and that should include as well (it does for me) not wearing any fur or leather and boycotting all companies & products who do support or use animal testing!
