Another gorgeous release from Anders Nilsson(aka Soul Surfer, Chromosome).

Artist: Andromeda.
Title: Sensations.
Label: YSE Recordings.
Catalog: YSE080.
Format CD in digipac case.
Release Date: 14th November 2005

Track Listing:
1. 6'48" Sensations(136BPM).
2. 8'24" Bling Blings (136BPM).
3. 7'31" Twisted Sister (138BPM).
4. 7'45" The Dreamer (136BPM).
5. 6'51" Second System (136BPM).
6. 7'29" Mind bender (139BPM).
7. 6'04" La Maquina (132BPM).
8. 6'56" Coketail (126BPM).
9. 5'52" Zen Meditation (90BPM).
10. 9'02" Atmonizer(Natural Flow Remix) (136BPM)BONUS TRACK.

Review:

1. Sensations.
A nice opener which builds with a rolling bassline. Deep & floaty with slight tribal feel to the pads. Gorgeous uplifting build out of the breakdown.

2. Bling Blings.
Deep & funky with more of a psy feel with techno influences over the pads/percussion. The depth to the track develops throughout in a good progressive style.

3. Twisted Sister.
Still deep & funky but with a slightly harder feel although in a beautiful uplifting manner. This goes into a slightly more psychedelic territory too. Excellent change up after 2.5 minutes and then building depth to an excellent progression that lifts you along with it....simply awesome!

4. The Dreamer.
Now we get a stronger kick drum but still deep and bouncy and the whole bass/percussion having a distinct tribal techno influenced feel to it. Lush! The trademark uplifting overtones are there and work a treat! When you come out of the breakdown you're in orbit!

5. Second System.
Still deep, bouncy & uplifting but with a very definite more psychedelic influence. Floaty uplifting progressive trance!

6. Mind Bender.
This has a similar feel to Twisted Sister. Again dreamy uplifting progressive trance with nice techy overtones and good depth to the progressive layers.

7. La Maquina.
Although the BPM's drop to 132 here, Anders maintains the deep funky BUT uplifting feel to the progression of the track. This is a great example of how to keep people lifted up without heavy BPMs.

8. Coketail.
At 126BPM this is into progressive house territory. It's very deep but bouncy, trancey and uplifting. The track felt a bit too samey throughout for my liking but again the production quality is outstanding.

9. Zen Meditation.
Fairly obviously from the BPM's this is an Ambient track and it IS beautiful, but for me nothing out of the ordinary. There's a multitude of this kind of music out there!

10. Atmonizer(Natural Flow Remix).
We get a bonus track here from Anders Nilsson's first Andromeda cd "Temptations" and it's remixed into a deep progressive monster with a hefty kickdrum that drives it along and some nice techno influenced pads as well as a more psychedelic feel than maybe the rest of the album has. Nice Bonus!!!

In Conclusion:

Anders Nilsson again proves his production skills are of the highest order. He knows how to make deep but uplifting progressive trance for those dreamier parts of progressive sets and he does it in style!
This feels very much like Soul Surfer gets deeper and that's not a bad thing!

Standout tracks for me are 3(!),4(!),6(!) closely followed by 1,5.

Overall: 8.5/10

One complaint: AGAIN YSE have released a cd with incorrect BPM information on the case. The listing is reversed on tracks 3 & 4. The correct BPM's are as I have listed. This was exactly the same problem on the Soul Surfer cd!!!!           If you point your cart North,

There are some good tracks on offer here, most notably Sensations, Coketail and Mindbender. I think when they lower the BPM they're doing what they can do best, and that is make a progressive sound with Logic Bombesque (is that a new word?? hehehe) kinda melodies. Coketail is especially really fat sounding and I like that one a lot. Anyway, solid stuff here, although I must say some songs sound like they were put together without much thought. The song with the female sample from some sort of porn movie springs to mind. At least they didn't decide to opt for the 'final fantasy' sample-fest again, like they did last album. In my opinion there are some really strong tracks here, and when listening to those one might say this is better than their first effort. However, the first album has no downers, so that one is still more solid overall. I'd advise people to just listen to online samples of this. If you like it then you shouldn't hesitate to buy it. One major downer of this album is the packaging errors. Inside the case there is a different track 9, the bpm is all wrong, the tracklisting is fucked up. It all comes over like they wanted to release this in a hurry or something. Shame. This album could've improved if there had been put more time into the overall package.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Thanks Acidhive, I'd forgotten about the additional track listing screwup inside the cd case!!!
YSE shouldn't be making such basic errors.....not fair to the artist or the purchasers of the cd or us dj's!!!!           If you point your cart North,

I like this much more than the first Andromeda, but the errors are bothersome... I like "The Dreamer" (track four) but since track three has that sample I guess it's actually called something else? It would be nice to find a correct tracklist that is exactly as the artist wanted so I can make a note in my collection.

Not only did they mess up the BPM-information on the back-cover, they also wrote a wrong tracklist inside the cover... "Local Amnesia" ?

It's a really nice CD though. I was a bit disappointed at first, but surprisingly enough it has really grown on me. There is nothing revolutionary about the album, and Andromeda have surely released a lot of similar-sounding tracks through the last years, but at the end of the day, I can't deny that it mostly sounds wonderful.

My personal favourites are "Sensations", "The Dreamer", "Mind Bender", "La Maquina", "Coketail" and the great remix of "Atmonizer" by Natural Flow.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

Yeah, this one definitely grows on you! The more you listen to it or play it in sets the better it sounds! My personal feeling is that this is a sign of the depth and quality of production that Anders has put in it.....your brain just can't process it all adequately on the first listen through!!!           If you point your cart North,

Well...even we have a rmx on this cd, I would like to give my opinion about this album. Hope this dont goes under the "selfpromoter-category"...

With their debut album "temptations" they opend me a bit the way to the proggresive psytrance. So i had high expecations on this. For me its the natural progression of their music. Overall the sound is more mature, fater, clubier...without loosing the beautfull melodies that makes you dream.
They went away from the rolling baselines and make it now more in the pumpy groovy way. i like that..
Still there are some fillers imo...but the outstanding tracks are really beautiful...

My fav. 1!!,3,7!,8....

good luck to you guys!!
