Quasga, I remember a little over a year ago (in this thread: http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/57847/forum/10/start/15 ) that Nick Tripswitch mentioned you were working on a remix of Indigo from his Circuit Breaker release. Did I miss that one? Languishing in Studio Hell somewhere? I'm hoping it's still in play...was looking forward to that.

It never worked out... He was going to remix Neurosomatic Circuit, as well, but we both never ended up sending each other files.

Guess we both got wrapped up in other stuff. haha!

Sorry man. Maybe we still might. ??

Peace and dub,
Q

Update....

Nick contacted me a little while back and the remix plan is back underway... Hopefully it will get released sometime.

Can't wait to hear it - "Indigo" is one of my favourite tracks from "Circuitbreaker".

Probably won't see a new Androcell album in 2007. I was writing some new tracks for it but then decided the style is getting worn thin so abandoned the effort. So I have a few unreleased tracks that need a home, now I just need to find someone willing to release them.

I've been waiting and waiting for a new OTT album to come.... I've mailed him asking him when it could possibly be, but I just get ignored as usual.

Also, wrapping up a dub remix of Banco de Gaia - Ynys Elen which is for a silly little contest @ www.acidplanet.com

I'll post when it's uploaded for listening for those of you interested.

That's brilliant news. A combination of your skills and his is a welcome concept.

It sounds like it's getting closer and closer! He's played a good deal of new material recently - heard some at Shambhala in August and recently at Symbiosis. (Shiver me timbers, but it sounds delightful)

Give the guy some slack, though...he's excpecting his first child in a month so life has become a bit more hectic. I know his aim is to have it finished before the babe makes his/her appearance in late October. We WON'T be disappointed either way - new stuff is amazing!

Wow, really? I had no idea... I'll try to find a way to send him a cigar! That is really great news to hear. My wife keeps pushing me for a baby but I won't tell her one of my favorite artists is in the process.... she'll just hold it over my head, haha. So, if he finishes the album in October, then Twisted Records should have it out by, let's say, 2009!!! hahaha

Ok, the Banco de Gaia - Ynys Elen (Androcell dub remix) is up @ ACIDplanet if anyone wants to take a listen.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, didn't Twisted just release the Western Rebel Alliance CD somewhat on time? There's hope, I tell you!

(Sorry for off-topicness, this thread should be all about Quasga )

I'm not sure if Twisted released it on time or not.... I never buy my music on time so it's never really mattered to me at any rate. I know some people just get bugged out when Twisted (or any label for that matter) pushes back release dates.

No worries about off-topicness.... OTT is never an off-topic with me. We can talk about whatever here and I invite a change of topic at any point someone wants to switch it up. I've taken a nose-dive with creativity lately so I appreciate the distraction from people's expectations and questions about what I'm *trying* to do as an artist. Let's all put forth the highest of expectations for OTT in what he *can* do as an artist. It's been so long since his first album, I'm really expecting the second to have me in awe for at least a year after it's released.

Waiting and waiting some more.....

Peace,

Ack, I know full-well the cyclical tendencies of creativity and the nosedives, when they happen, can be disconcerting, esp. when the pressure's on. Here's hoping you find your muse again soon!

I don't think we have anything to worry about as regards to Ott's creative cycle...it's clearly in full effect. All of his new tracks (that I've heard) are delicious gems. One in particular has already become an instant favorite, after only hearing it twice...he told me he was trying to create the happiest tune possible and I believe he's achieved that.

One thing he's mentioned in interviews and on his Twisted blog ( http://www.twisted.co.uk/artists/ott/ ) is that it took him 20 years to make the first album and now it's only been 3 years he's been working on this new one...he's closing the gap, so perhaps the time between this one and the NEXT one will be even less. If he doesn't disappear under a pile of diapers and Gerber's baby food in the meantime.
