i think some nasty messages were removed from that thread...also the promotion was kinda weird, with copies avail for as per normal channels e.g. saiko and psyshop (where i got mine) and the artist requesting (repeatedly) here rather to buy direct...and the fact it was leaked so quickly in high quality...I am only hoping that Tyler is ok, and that he gets rewarded somehow for his dedication to this scene... |

I'm so confused about what's going on.
This will be my last post regarding anything to do with Tyler/Quasga/Androcell/Distant System unless it has to do with some new material coming out.

My cousin asked me to continue to handle all online promotion so as to avoid the countless distractions and nefarious, pointless subjective criticism the internet and these type of forums pose so he can maintain total focus and make maximum use of his creative time. Since I am unfamiliar with your scene, and not here for my personal interest, he told me to just use his last remaining active account and gave me a synopsis of how posting in your forum works. In my eyes, Tyler is a brilliant, multi-talented indvidual who I dearly respect so when he asked for my help I was honored to take the burden off him. From what he has told me, his work seems to be reaching many new people outside the confines of your scene. In fact, more people who aren't apart of your scene, but have found out about his music online, have supported his latest album than those who are apart of it. He discovered this by beginning to ask those supporting the work "how they heard about the music and what their music scene affiliation" only to be amazed at how many weren't previously aware of any of it. He has also told me that labels are totally obsolete in his perception and that all his future music releases from here on will be only available direct from him.
If you don't like these facts and you have problems with his current musical conduct than feel welcome to take your support in the opposite direction. He has expressed that he is only interested in support from those who can accept the work for what it is and suggests that you make your own music if you are hellbent on trying to tell him on how he should create his.

I have no idea (or care for) what happened, but I'm interested to hear from u, if that's possible, why does Tyler consider labels obsolete? What are the considerations that have led to him to release stuff entirely independently? I assume one of the cons is less exposure and another is quite a bit of hassle, while the main con is 100% of the income. Is there anything else?
For the record, in today's day and age, it seems to me like a totally reasonable decision and one I was happy to see him take. |

I respect Tyler's decision to make 'maximum use of his creative time' but I am less excited to support the project now that I know that all interactions/communications regarding his material won't actually be from him, but someone else who he is paying to communicate with his fanbase.
I really enjoy reading the ARTIST'S words and interacting with them on social media sites and places like this.
Just feels like he's willfully closing himself off from his fanbase because they're distracting or something. IDK, if I had a massive following of people who enjoyed my music I wouldn't feel too bad about dropping on occasional personal note on a social media site or here. Not like he has to blog every day about what he eats and what synths he uses and what color his shit is or anything, but the personal touch is important to me.
IMO a successful musician these days needs to keep their fanbase excited...
Fuck, if Simon & Benji, notorious studio recluses that they are, can interact with their fans on Facebook than so can tyler

He feels that labels just are not necessary at this point, especially when they haven't been very forthcoming with sales numbers and payments for digital downloads they controlled in the past. No need for compact discs being produced anymore when digital file medium seems to be becoming more of the expected and preferred format. Sometimes a lot of waste can be generated when CD production companies screw up the printing or duplication and scrap the whole job for a redo. So there is an environmental concern on top of everything else.

You have misinterpreted and come to a false assumption. I am not being paid to communicate for him. I'm doing it out of love and respect for him as a relative. I'm not a fan of Androcell music myself. Too much going on in the music for my taste.

He tries to keep people excited through his creative work. Not by sharing his personal thoughts and opinions.

I don't know who "Simon & Benji" are but Tyler was never a big fan of facebook when he was using before his previous profile was defiled and abused. He said it was one of the most impersonal experiences on the web. Something to the effect of a fast food social site where people weren't looking for substance but a quick info fix.
He seems perplexed and amused that people seem to have forgotten how to send a personal e-mail anymore. |

The bad news is that his laptop was stolen from a private charity event he played for free last weekend. His financial situation will not allow him to replace it for quite awhile. No gigs will be possible this summer. This year has unfortunately been riddled with trouble.

To me all of this sound a bit fake. I a mot sure if this is a joke or real. Come on it's not like he is Micheal Jackson.
Having a person speak for you in a underground scene seem quite weird no matter if you like Facebook or not.
Atmos does the same on Facebook.... weird trend going on here.

Ha! I am no press agent if that is what you are referring to. I have answered a few questions of his fans just to be polite based on information that I know.

I do not know who "Atmos" is but this has nothing to do with a trend. I'm doing it just to helphim sell more albums because he is in a desperate position to keep his rent paid. Because of a recent laptop theft and that he works a minimum wage full-time job Tyler can't afford and does not have time to play gigs anymore that require traveling.
Give the guy a break. He works for a company cleaning grease traps at restuarants at night just to keep a roof over his computer to make the music he loves. |

Hello all,
It's me, Tyler. My cousin revealed a little more about what I'm having to do to survive than I would have liked him to but it is the sad state of affairs I have found myself in. I e-mailed him to say his efforts are no longer necessary as it doesn't seem to be doing any good. I've had a lot of bad shit happen to me this year and it seems I deserve it for chasing a dream that I'm not cut out for. People have been trying to shake me from it ever since I started and they finally broke through. I can't take the constant persecution anymore. I finally realize that I don't have what it takes to make it doing this. I love music and I love trying to create it but I will no longer be able to be apart of what I tried so hard to be apart of. I've been criticized, slandered, and robbed to the point of no return. I just wanted those of you who cared to hear it from the horse's mouth. Those of you who have been waiting to see me fail can rest easy now. I lost. You win.
HUGE and sincere THANKS to those of you who helped me at least try to make it all come true. You know who you are.
I'm too tired to create much music anymore. Time for work again.... gotta go.
Peace out,
Tyler

I only deserve better if I was better at creating music that people could actually appreciate. It's true what they say, I'm just a pathetic copy cat who lacks originality and real talent. Almost anyone with a computer and a little time on their hands can do what I have done thus far. All I did was cue up some presets and hit some random notes. The software did most of the work. It takes a lot more to go beyond that to become respected.
