Today I found a very old MIDI keyboard: Reveal Musicstar.

I connected it to my soundcard and it worked perfectly for about 10 seconds, and then just stopped working.

I restarted my computer, and the same thing happens again.

Any ideas what to do before I tear this keyboard apart trying to find answers inside it?

Probably there is something in the keyboard that when it is warming up makes the keyboard to stop working. And it takes 10 seconds of playing for that thing to warm up. When you restart your computer you are giving the keyboard the chance to cool down again.
I don't know, just guessing.

Find a MIDI messages analyzer program and see what signals are being sent.
That will help to solve the problem, maybe the keyboard sends some command that jams all the other commands...           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Just open it op gentely,
and clean it, its probably full of dust and
other crap wich makes it heat up to quick.

Well, turns out I took it totally wrong.

The MIDI keyboard I tossed to our extremely dusty storage room 6 or 7 years ago was perfectly alright.
The other end (Delta 1010) was fucked somehow.

so I simply connected it to my old SB live (finally I'm using it ).
I have no idea what's wrong with the soundcard, but I tend to think it's a software problem because the midi indicator on my soundcard blinks every time a note is played (I didn't notice it before because it's kinda hard to see it and I was completely sure that the problem is related to the keyboard).

I checked my device mannager and to my understanding there are no hardware conflicts.
Any ideas?

BTW, I found a cool MIDI monitoring program:
http://obds.free.fr/midimon/

It's good for 30 executions.

Thanks to all who tried to help

It blinks whenever a MIDI Input/Output device is connected to it.
It blinks a little more when a note is played. It's hard to see it though.
