So much how does it cost you to watch a stream video on your site...
As I know on my website/host/server the cost is pratically negligable after I have paid the year hosting costs (about £150 per annum). Literally a few tenths of a pence for a 400Mb video file.

I know EXACTLY how much I spend, because it comes out my missus' wage.
I think you are probably being ripped by your hosting services if it costs you exponentially more than I am paying. And I have been streaming and hosting video for ten years now.

Was an interesting article.Well not that much about FFF but that other aspects were so funny,I planned to go for a Boom.How has it all changed.. What a bunch of commercial mofo's.LMAO .. 19 euro for a mid sized pizza.The spiritual Boom must be booming.Is this awful..
It's more about some marketing concepts ,egos and money than anything what had it once to do with this.
Espescially egos - it is really pathetic in this scene.
I bet there is no óther scene in the world where it is so considerating the egomaniac tendencies .
Mentally poor and nothing that more.
It defenetely is something completely other than it was once.

what is your site then? i see only four videos on your site? may be you have another site as well? and you have 2000 views per video in two weeks period as well?
well, it is possible that i get ripped. i intend to do the streaming service in a totally different way but this will be a lot of work and i will do it after i get back from india. maybe i never get back, then i will just put all existent videos that i have made on you tube and let it freeze.
at the present time it is 1gb of live streaming 1 euro. 400 mb video is converted into smaller piece though. depends on the format as well. i just dont wanna start right on with doing the hosting all myself with servers at home cause i am just not profi enough for this. i cant do everytihing alone. the risk is too big that i will not know what to do if it crashes completely.

yes indeed, you are right and thanks agains for your encouraging words. i dont hear them often, i am more expose to bans, prohibitions and true offendings. whatever, i will keep doing what i love, but unfortunately in the last year i realized that the trance scene is not really what i love. lets see how this al evolves. i cant do anything if the only thing i get is being banned and prohibited.
and yes, big commercial trance and fucked up awakened heads are for me ways more intruding than fucking but everyone has his own views....

I normally stream around 100Gb of video a month, mostly to people I am collaborating with.
Of which the public videos make up around 30-50Gb on an average month, though this can spike over 250Gb for the first month a video is up.
I found it useful for me to use YouTube to take off the strain on my server. Although currently I am looking to get an outside professional in to redo the website, as I just don't have the time to do everything anymore and the site is suffering because of it. I expect once that is done sometime in the first half of 2010, the traffic will go up to a steady 200Gb a month. At which point I have the option of paying £100 or so more if I want a faster server/connection/upgrade my service.
If you know what to look for Moki, you could find an all inclusive hoster (though the sexual nature of some of your videos might be an issue for some ISPs/hosts) for around £400-500 at the absolute top, and more like £250 you would really need, and be able to upgrade it as and when you need.
Anyway think about it whilst you are on your wanderings, and maybe have a look when you come back. No time stressing about the small things, when you have such a journey infront of you.
