So today I've just started a three year sound engineering course, on Wednesday we have our first oral presentation which is meant to be an analysis of our favourite song touching on rythm, melody, artist background, instruments used and emotion.

I've decided to use Lost & Found's Reflux (off of the V/A Manga; Yabai Rec)seeing as at the moment it's probably my favourite track. I can speak about rythm and emotion but could anyone with a better ear for synthesis maybe help me out in terms of speaking about production? Simply stating that sequencers and samplers were used as instruments is a bit flat. Can anyone give me better detail in terms of what specific synthesis was used (especially the from 3:41 to around 4:30 which is my favourite section and probably the busiest.)

I'm guessing that the zipping sound at the start of that phrase is a detuned sawtooth in which the LFO on the pitch gets gradually tweaked. Am I anywhere close?

Also, if anyone knows what key and scale is used that would also greatly help.

PS. Don't think I'm trying to get you guys to do my homework, I'd just like to make a good first impression with a detailed presentation.

Thanks in advance.
