I use some. SH101. I love it. Very simple but lots of character. Ensoniq ESQ-1. Ok its a hybrid synth. Digital oscs and a really cool analog filter. Very dirty sounding synth and very warm. Love the filter. |

Cool. The MB33 has always interessted me. They are so damn cheap! I've got a feeling that Infected Mushroom uses it for thier distorted 303 sounds.
How do you like it? Could you post an mp3 with it? If you do that I'll make an SH-101 demo.

I use an mb33, too. you can hear it here in my track (first 303ish line that appears after some minutes): http://www.martin-bartsch.de/mp3/mentris/Kraftakt.mp3
(the 303ish sounds, that appear later, are from rebirth)
my second analogue synth (that I used massively in that track, too) is a roland alpha juno-1. I bought it some weeks ago for only 120,- Euro - and I love it!
so lets hear your 101-demo, AvS
btw: the mb33 seems to work not properly - it "clicks", if the filters are closed.

Hey that doesn't count! It has to be the MB33 ONLY and NO fx.
Ok ok I found this old mp3 where I'm just playing around with simple sequence on the SH101.

Crazy track martyn btw. Kinda acid/psytrance.
The pwm bass is the alpha juno right? It sounds VERY much like the pwm on SH101 actually.
Oh and clicks on synth are pretty normal. The 101 also clicks alot when the amp is set to GATE. I always set it to env. |

first i was not agree that the vst sound is weaker than analoque until using them.
i use tb303, mc 202, mfb, waldorf microwave xt, sherman filterbank 2 filter fx and oviously virus.
-tb 303 (no question about this acid factory for sure),
-mc 202 (the acid also leaking very hard from within, same as sh 101 but mc202 is the retro version with only about a pound weight and no midi but could rebuild, i also found a no mercy kick from it.
-waldorf microwave xt (beast of wavetable legend for those who can't afford PPG Wave 2.2)
-mfb (hard to explain until try - killer saw sound, and grind sound)
-sherman filterbank 2 (watch your monitor if you still love 'em or if they don't have a limitor, the hidden gost fx could blow your love shake in any sound form)
-virus (oh well, found this sound in "everywhere")
to bad they don't produce them anymore except virus

Cool. However (and im not trying to be an asshole) but i think ansolas meant real analog synths. Virus and Microwave are 100% digital. |

yeah
my novation is 100% digital and still sounds more powerfull that any vst i've got, maybe apart from synth1 with lots of filter saturation
i like novation synths for 303 type leads
