32 channel Yamaha GA32/12 and 20 channel Soundcraft K1 used for routing and monitoring mainly... (All mixing done in the box).

Oh and a crappy DJ mixer.

PoM: You need some pretty good converters and a very good desk to make it worth while to leave the digital domain. I don't think the Mackie desks qualify.

I got a Tapco MIX 100...just for monitoring and mic pre's.

If you like a unit to warm up your sound maybe a desk is not the best. And for sure not the Mackie since it tends to be very clean and not add much to the sound.
I did use a cheap Roland desk that I thought could dist very nicely years ago.
If I wanted to do that today I would plug in my Focusrite tone factory....but I can never be asked plugging in my hardware and just stick a Vintage Warmer on there instead           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

In my opinion the macky mixers do qualify, I would get good converters though. Pro Tools is doing a fine job at converting the audio!           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Im VERY happy with my A&H desk. The pres are pretty clean, booth noise wise and sound wise but maybe a tiny bit dark but not a problem imo.
The eq is quite good imo. You have lots of control with it. Beside the high and low shelf there are two paramentric bands with lots of overlap in the freq ranges. One is 35hz-1khz and the other is 500hz-15khz.

Iv tried running vst's though it but it doesnt pay off. I cant really hear a difference in sound only if i run the preamps
pretty hot the sound does get a bit darker and alot bassier but not worth the effort.

Ive also tried mixing a 6 track song from reason through it. Cant really hear any difference.
