what exactly does the access virus' analog boost to the sound? what is the closest thing in software?

I think it's some sort of distortion or overdrive tuned to a specific frequency, that adds harmonics. The added harmonics make the sound stand out more in a busy mix. I use it to beef up bass-patches.
If i'm not completely wrong, the closest thing in software are distortion(Quadrafuzz, Antares Trash), overdrive(Da Tube), and maybe enhancers(BBE Sonic Maximizer, Rbass)

from the manual:this effect produce the typical bass of analog synth...it s suitable for almost any type of sound,works well with the distortion section... |
