the thing is, everybody has a nord lead and a virus. So if you get those, you will sound like everybody else. Flame away, y'all know it's true.

Of course you CAN make unique sounds with a Nord or Virus, but they do have a very recognizable sound and usually it's pretty apparent who uses them or not.

For a first synth if you like to go outside the box I would without a doubt go for a proper analogue, preferably a modern one like a Studio Electronics or a Doepher modular.
Then you get something that sounds quite different from the VA's and VSTi's.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

From your advices and from what I've heard I'm really considering acquiring a Virus TI as a first synth, the only thing is that as I already have a good midi keyboard, I would buy the Desktop edition (rack).

Is this a good idea ? It's lots of money for me, so I just want to make sure
