So I just got my grubby little mitts on this album. It's available for digital download. It's very good.

It's definitely a bit different from what most people gravitate towards on the ol' Ambient & Chill Out board, but I think it may be worth a listen nonetheless. Why would isratrance like it? Because it's trippy as fuck, that's why. It's *very* weird -- I would go so far as to say that it's significantly weirder than most "psychedelic chillout" albums.

Tobin has come along way from the jazzy post-jungle music that he used to be known for; this is a weird, glitchy pastiche of sampled noises and mutant beats. It fluctuates between threatening, scary sounds and a sort of freakish beauty. That's about all I can definitely say about it. It's really not like anything else I've heard.

well, i don't hate this as much as I thought I would. Usually "avant garde" music just annoys me and gives me muscle twitches, but for some reason this has kept my interest, as have other of his works. though, currently I'm 8 tracks in and I think I'm about to shut it off....maybe it makes me simple or closed minded or whatever, but I really get a lot more enjoyment out of music that has "flow."

found that you can listen to it free here: http://soundcloud.com/amon-tobin

Definitely checkout Out From Out Where. I love Tobin's stuff. And you're right, trippy as hell.

That's a great one. This album is closer in sound to his last album, "Foley Room."

Glad to hear he has some new stuff out! Loved his works up to From Out... Didn't care for Foley Room too much. Still, I'll open my ears and mind and give this new one a listen.
