Hi ppl
i want to upgrade to a AMD X2 4400+ and maybe keep my current Mobo (MSI k8n neo2 Platinum)...
I know that are some compatibility issues with X2 dual cores and TC poco´s and Uad-1!!
Is there anybody experiencing this kind of stuff ??
What about the perfomance,i would like to hear some nice stories to make my move |

the problems are with the nvidia nforce4 chipset, using the pci-express architecture.
basically, *sometimes*, if you have a card on the pci slot (sound card, dsp, whatever) it will suffer being given lower priority over the pci-e slots (used for gfx cards or anything else that works on pci-e).
this problem is most common on single core cpus. dual core (such as the one you want to upgrade to) have lower chance of getting this problem.
note that this problem only occurs on pci cards on pci-e mobos running the nf4 chipset.
since your mobo (k8n) has the nf3 chipset and no pci-e on it - you can upgrade as you wish. just make sure it supports dual core.
on a side note - there are poco and uad cards using pci-e shipping now. so we shouldn't have this problem for long

There is a research about that issue on www.rme-audio.com
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/techinfo/PCIe_01.htm
The mobo u got is one of the best to have with dual core AMD, I wouldnt change a thing. But it may have issues with the UAD, I think for this old ASUS mobo's can be good, or DFI Lanparty Nforce3
